I do like mlbs season 5 finale, I love the way that marinette acts as such a deeply flawed person especially when it comes to adrien, the way her need to control every outcome extends to even him when she's feeling stressed enough
however I completely get the disappointment with the outcome, how Gabriel essentially doesn't have to deal with the consequences of his actions, as well as adrien never having to grapple with his actions, never having a chance to face gabriel on his own terms and have any agency at all involving his father and the hawkmoth plot
my hope is that when marinettes secret is revealed we'll see how he chooses to deal with it, maybe a lot more from his perspective and how he feels about everything. the way everyone has treated him haunting him at every step, just would be nice to see more of him...
