unsahikable: I have a friend who dresses similar to the style in the second pic - although not on purpose. She will just wear a kurti instead of a blouse and drape a cotton saree as casually as possible, sometimes even wearing jeans underneath. Her mission is to make wearing sarees an everyday thing and I have to say I'm really inspired by her.
Good on her! Yes the second pic is quite contemporary.
I see the casual drape and a variety of blouses even on more mainstream sites now so it now longer seems a niche, indie thing.
