I say 'synthetic' as in what we would consider virtual reality. We synthesised food, decided we could make it sweeter, stronger, milder, changed it's colours and consistencies - we're going a step further with 3D printing of food (ref. 3D printed Raspberry, Cambridge University 2014). If we can change it, we'll try it. If we can synthesise it, we will. I don't feel this article requires details of communication history but bluntly: from thinking, through talking, drawing, writing, singing, art, books, music, tv, digital, virtual towards singularity & omnipresence. So... if we can synthesise experience, as we do daily, if this continues to evolve becoming totally immersive, then this pattern is predictable both ahead and, behind. Reality is an experience, we can all agree there, but, if an experience can be synthesised, could we logically argue that this experience itself could be a synthesised experience? We're already recording what goes on with our memories, we then synthesise that with words, images, sounds. If we're recording, assume we're saving it somewhere. Maybe we all come from water, the liquid hard drive containing organic code. There has to be somewhere to save all the data. Who is the programmer, what is the source? I may not follow any currently popular religion, and maybe not as you think of it but, God exists, where we came from, and undoubtedly ahead of us. I'll give you a clue, nearly everyone's got it wrong, because only one, can get it right, at, a, time, per person. We all have our own perception of the richest commodity we know of. All that's left now is to hope, wish & decide how to share it well.
