For the WIP sharing game, I'm intrigued by

And I also wanted to ask about "the foundation of it all" but I saw that igrab was faster to ask haha

Hi!!! Ah yes that one... I won't reveal too much about it because I'm actually planning on posting it on the first hiruhoshi day next week (if I can finish tidying it up by then haha), but essentially, I couldn't stop thinking about what Kōrai's return home from the Olympics would look like (if Sachirō couldn't make it down to watch Japan's game against Argentina, which I like to think he does, but with the way his schedule must be, there's also the chance he doesn't), so I went to write that... except it kind of snowballed out of control from there and now it's almost 6k words of "yeah our life isn't perfect — we don't see each other often because of our schedules and we can't really articulate the nature of our relationship to others — but it's ours, we've accepted that, and that's all that matters". And also lots of beating amatonormativity with a stick because what else do you expect from me at this stage.

Writing fluff of this caliber does not come naturally to me, but also... these two have wormed their way into my brain and have no intentions of leaving anytime soon and Kōrai in particular keeps snatching the reins from me and demanding I make them cuddle, so. I fear I have no choice but to oblige.

You didn’t think I made the national team for nothing, did you?” Sachirō’s mind wanders to Kōrai’s ball boy years and late night practice sessions and a starlight-haired boy suspended in mid-air, silhouetted by glaring overhead lights amidst a crowd screaming his name and, finally, shakes his head. “Of course not.” He lets his grip unfurl to run his fingers over the taut coils of muscle at Kōrai’s back, mapping out those evidences of evolution. Guilt wrings his stomach at the realisation of how much of it he hadn’t properly bore witness to recently. “I really wish I could’ve gone down to watch at least some of your games in-person, though,” he confesses.

That's all I'm going to share right now because again!!! Wednesday is hiruhoshi day and this will (hopefully) be continued then!!! Stay tuned 🫡
