If it’s true that Jana had her contract terminated…what’s your thoughts on why the club would do this? Like yeah it frees up salary but wouldn’t getting a transfer fee also free up salary?
I know I’m not saying anything new with this but I’m actually just so sad about how our club is handling this. And you know it’s bad when all the Barça (mainly men’s focused pages) are highlighting how shit the treatment is. Actually this is probably the only tiny positive that I’m seeing from my perspective, so much outrage and support from culers.
so i previously discussed on my blog why some teams choose to do a contract termination as opposed to trying to sell a player and collect a transfer fee. essentially, it benefits the player more so than the club.
for the player, the inbound club does not have to pay the outbound club a transfer fee (so it's like the player is leaving on a free), and this opens up more clubs for the player to negotiate with and she is not limited to the only ones who are willing to pay the fee.
for the club, the outbound club immediately gets to free up salary space, even though they have to potentially lose out on a transfer fee. when it's a mutual termination, the club also keeps a positive relationship with the outgoing player in the case that they may eventually return to the club. but the club doesn't gain as much as the player (in my opinion!)
what i find difficult to understand is that LCL would be unwilling to pay a transfer fee. that part doesn't make sense. jana is a fantastic young player with a high potential.
that is why i am questioning this news. so far it's only been one source about no transfer fee for jana. maybe let's wait and see what else develops.
