TW character death, minor death,
Some kid sat in front of them, maybe 15 or 16 rhey didn’t know, and they didn’t care. They were a case to get through, just another subject.
They knew soemthing they shouldn’t, it probably wasn’t thier fault, but Whumper had to access the knowledge and determine if they could be released back into society, and if not take care of them.
“You’ve been giving me the death stare for quite a while now, that’s rude”
The kid’s stare deepened, turning more deadpan, they seemed almost shocked. They immediately removed that expression off their face.
“I ain’t no snitch”
Whymper had to hold back a chuckle. “Did I say you were?”
The kid looked uncertain, like they were more conscious of their words now, like they thought about what they said a lot more than they ever had. “Well no you didn’t but I aint one anyway.”
“It’s that type of psychological training that gets kids like you in to trouble with people like me. If you just tell me what you know, I can consider letting you go. If you don’t well things are gonna get complicated and then i definately csnt let you go. “
The kid rolled their eyes, Whumper couldn’t hold back the chuckle this time. “You see my face here?” The kid nodded, however relunctantly.
“The longer you get a good look at it, the less likely chance you leave this place alive, or with all functioning organs and body parts”
That graphic seemed to snap something in the kid, the expression, it seemed to register how much trouble tjey were in, some people were truly in tje wrong place at the wrong time. But Whumper wasn’t paid to care about how the kid came to see what he did, he was just the problem solver, so now it was time tk solve some problems.
“I didn’t see much, just a car and a big guy with a tattoo.” Looks like the kid might have had a head on his shoulders after all, maybe this wouldn’t take all day.
“And this tattoo was where?” Whymper had to confirm the kid wasn’t making soemthing ups, the police reports, the cops had an horrible idea of what the tattoo was and no idea where it was, but they had the concept of a tattoo down. So if the kid knew more, it would be proof of the truth.
“Right lower arm, it was some sort of serpent on a star” The snake from the garden of Eden, eating the Star of David, that was sure rhe symbol of the Savior Serpents, and if the cops knew that was more than jsut a religious organization it would crush a lot of things.
Whumper stood, opening the door, and ushering the kid out. “See was that so hard, nothing like a nice truth cookie”
The kid looked like they took a breath air, obviously happy to have the situation over.
They stood from their chair, worn shoes rubbing against the concrete. They turned their back to whumper as they walked through the doorframe.
Crack…..
They kid made a bit of a whimper. But they felt no pain, that was a mercy Whymper could provide. They caught the kids lifeless body before it hit the ground, lowering them slowly to the floor and shutting their eyelids.
It’s just a job and they were just a task.
