Hot take, but the pro-life argument that someone might have a great life and therefore it’s criminal for a woman to abort the baby conveniently coincides with the capitalist idea that you might make it so please toil away below the poverty line for my successful corporation.
To take it further, if woman are allowed to abort a pregnancy, those children won’t be around to do the shitty jobs, buy exploitative products, or suffer so that the winners can live comfortably (or beyond any historical precedent of wealth, whichever).
Even the very fact that rich people will still be able to abort a pregnancy with little to no consequences (even if it was illegal), and that---out of the women forced to continue a pregnancy---the kids statistically likely to be okay are the kids from middle and upper class women while poor kids are more likely to get chewed up and spit out by the system or be raised in poverty, just perpetuates class divides and is a huge middle finger to poor people.
Also, men are fucking out of their minds if they think that I, as a woman, would ever hand the state the right to force me into anything regarding reproductive rights. The fact that a lot of men can’t see how laws that like can be horribly abused blows my fucking mind.
