It’s the 10th of April. Here is the convention news...

NEW! The Yogscast (and of course, Kim) will be at MCM ComicCon at the end of May - and so will the legend that is Nichelle (Lt. Uhura) Nichols, one of my absolute heroes of all time.

I got a serious reminder of human frailty recently, with the passing of my sister-in-law’s mother, and such matters are something I can’t ignore whenever I make plans to do pretty much anything, given that my own mother isn’t in the best of health these days. I just don’t want to make the commitment of time and money, only to have to rush back if anything (gods forbid) goes wrong when I’m away.

Huh. The joys of adulthood, and being a responsible, money-earning contributor to society.

So, what’s the plan...?

I need time. Time to get into some kind of shape, and into a good head-space. Insomnia 61 should be some time around August, which might work, and MCM ComicCon Glasgow is 23rd-24th September - but will the Yogs venture North of the border for a change?

Alternatively, I could just write off 2017, and target London ComicCon May 2018, in the wake of the release of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. I am starting to develop a cosplay idea...

So frustrating - and others make it all look so EASY.

In other news

Apparently NC Comicon is this weekend. 

You know where it’s located? 

Durham. 

A city that is within 20 minutes of my house. 

And I didn’t know about this convention until yesterday when my art teacher mentioned it.

You know who probably won’t be able to go to the above convention?

Me. 

Because tomorrow my family and I are going to see The Illusionists at the DPAC (a.k.a. the Durham Performing Arts Center, which just so happens to be in the same city as the convention), and on Sunday my sister and I will probably have to mow the grass, which takes 4-5 hours thanks to the sheer amount of lawn we have to mow.

At least if I do get the chance to go the tickets are relatively cheap ($20-30 for a 1-day pass), compared to something like, say, San Diego Comic Con ($40-55 for a 1-day pass) or New York Comic Con (approx. $600 for a 4-day pass).

I’d probably wear a variation of the outfit I wore on Halloween. Y’know, the one with the lacy headband with the cat ears? Because I don’t have any actual cosplays I could wear (I have a few in the works, but they’re all still in the planning stage; I should probably work on them more), since I wasn’t actually planning to go to a convention until Animazement 2016.

By which I mean that I forgot that there are other conventions in North Carolina aside from Animazement and Cosplay America (which I actually went to this year; it was awesome, considering it’s only it’s second year and it’s rather small).
