"I was mesmerized by her hair."
CONvergence 2013!! It all started when CoreCon bought my badge in exchange for use of my Tardis over the weekend, but it turned out to be one of the most incredible conventions ever. I had a blast cosplaying with friends as the most amazing band ever, and then surprising them with said cosplay! :p
i need suggestions for what i should cosplay for a con i'm going to in july... here's what i look like if it helps at all c: just message me if you have any suggestions! thanks much!
There's a huge bear/chub/chaser event in New Orleans at the end of the month apparently. I have already gotten offers to stay with guys from growlr. What an exciting time to be alive when a complete stranger can invite you to a hotel room for an entire weekend!
Baby, I found you! T'is I, your Will twin! <3
EVERYTHING'S COMING UP WILL
(au where will graham's from gravity falls? nah idk)
Alright! I procrastinated enough-
Ugh, I love CONvergence. It's by far, my favorite convention EVER. But it always takes me AT LEAST a week to recoup.
and now that I'm recovered I'll post some pictures very VERY soon.
ヽ(;▽;)ノ I miss everyone already. *stifles sobs*

Convergence 2013
Made for the premier many years ago, by Elizabeth. This costume is the most fun you can have standing up. :)

It just occurred to me what the defining moment of this year's Convergence was for me, and that it actually says a lot more about who I am than I could actually write coherently.
This year at Convergence, 5 of my 7 pieces of jewelry sold in the art show. 2 of those pieces were popular enough to go to live auction. I worked 19 hours in the art show, with 3 hours of sleep in the middle. I met a ton of new people, and got to show off the convention I love to my best friend - who is already excited for next year. I worked my butt off on a Vanellope von Schweetz cosplay that I have one crappy hotel room picture of, despite the fact that more than 10 people asked for pictures. I'm sure it was more like 20 but I stopped being able to count.
This was all fantastic. But the one thing that I'm going to remember this year for is this:
I was just coming to the decision that I needed to take off my wig because I was getting migraine warnings. Darn heavy hair, and all, and a teenager walked up, with the biggest eyes ever, like I walked out of the movie (my costume was cute but the only part of it that was that good was my hair...). She asked for a picture, and of course I let her take one. And then, on a whim, I reached up and took a pin out of my hair. It was a chocolate mint one, one of my favorites. Then, I gave it to her. She looked at it like it was the holy grail of all costume accessories ever, squeed, and they went on their way. I watched them walk away. She was almost vibrating with excitement. It was just a bobby pin with a polymer clay candy that I'd made, but it must have meant so much more to her. It made me happy to matter like that to someone, even if for just a little while.
