I know nobody probably cares, but the reason I've kind of abandoned this blog is because I was sick of people making me feel """not jewish enough""" even though I'm not jewish yet, and I know I'm not there yet, but people are really out here making it seem like I'll never get there. As if I didn't already have imposter syndrome lmao

But there would be anons messaging random people I have never talked to asking why they were reblogging from me, and accusing me of being messianic. It's pretty annoying and disheartening.

This person didn't even know who I was or anything about me, i don't even have an idea who the anon is.

I have a question that I feel might be kind of dumb... but I wanna get a siddur and I want it to be reform but like are all reform siddurs the same or like how do I know which one to get?

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me that they’ve studied in Catholic Church extensively, then proceed to spew a bunch of complete, utter nonsense that is not teachings of the Catholic Church, I could move the purgatory out of this godforsaken, abysmal, cesspool of a town and study in Washington DC and get a nice Genesis like I need to want to. And maybe even a chicken McNugget meal. With sweet tea.

At the time I considered myself pretty estranged from Islam. And I wanted to imagine an Islamic environment in which I could belong. I felt all kinds of shame as a Muslim. People say Catholicism is a religion of guilt and Islam is a religion of shame. It's a different feeling--you can't show your face or look people in the eye knowing you have these little doubts inside you. A lot of Muslim kids end up leaving Islam because they have these double lives that they can't reconcile. So, I was trying to write about a world in which that wasn't a problem.
