Well, this is different. It's know as "The Happy Hippy Bus," located in Wiscasset, Maine, and it's for sale. It looks like it's been well-used, seen better days, probably has to be towed. The 1968 converted GMC school bus was reduced from $3,800 to $2,295 but I'm not sure if it's even worth that. Take a look.

The seller says they had so much fun with it and used to also rent it out on Airbnb.

They sure did plaster it with stickers, though.

Well, this seems to be a full stove.

Looks like this is hiding a dirty sink.

Here's a fridge.

Cute table area.

It sleeps 4, but this bunk looks claustrophobic.

Double bed up front. Usually, you see the beds in the back.

Bathroom vanity and sink.

Hmmm.

Looks like there's stuff stored in the shower.

I don't know much about these things, but it looks like it needs a major cleaning and a refurbishing. Is that real on the front tire?

I have never seen a layout in a skoolie conversion like these girls have. It’s very unique and appears to make more efficient use of the space. Take a look. 

Doesn’t it look larger and brighter? 

I like the color of the penny tile backsplash and the built-in spice rack.

They’ve got a small work area with a comfy chair plus room to spare, and it’s one of two desks.

Apparently, the driver’s area is utilized as part of the living space.

A 2nd work area is larger, and look at the little bar.

I have never seen a gallery wall in a skoolie.

The bed is slightly awkward, b/c the bath is there, but they can easily crawl in.

This is the roomiest one I’ve seen. Usually, they’re along the side of the bus. 

Very thoughtful layout.

Marine veteran Jessica Rambo converted an old school bus into a traveling art studio for veteran artists. 

She did all the work herself, including a little succulent rock garden on the dashboard.

After completely gutting it, she turned it into a rustic tiny home. (You can see where she DIY’d it and the walls and ceilings don’t quite meet, but she did a great job.)

It was a major undertaking for her.

The bus took 2 yrs. to complete and it’s now a home and a mission for Jessica, her 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a cat. 

Some friends helped with the plumbing, etc., on the 1997 Bluebird bus.

Jessica wanted to emphasize the wood paneling to give it a rustic cabin feel. 

The bathroom has a full metal trough soaking tub and private composting toilet area.

The children sleep on full size bunk beds. 

In the kitchen, the oven is set up beneath the butcher block counter, to add more work space. Painting the cabinets teal gives it a homey touch. 

The tiny Zen garden is meant to welcome guests. 

She named the bus/studio “The Painted Buffalo,” and she brings art to her fellow marines.

Craig converted a 1992 Blue Bird school bus from this...

to this. It kind of looks like an army vehicle.

He has solar panels on the roof to run the appliances inside.

And, it also features a platform for Craig’s bike. But, wait until you see how luxurious the interior is.

This is extraordinary. There’s even a faux brick wall with a fireplace. The kitchen also features an 11ft poured epoxy kitchen counter. (Look at the blue streaks in it.) The sofa pulls out to a queen size bed for guests, too.

He designed it himself and included a lot of storage.

He even included this fabulous espresso bar.

Partitioned off from the bed is a rainfall shower with a skylight above.

Look at how cozy he decorated it for Xmas. This is wonderful.

Thomas the Skoolie is one of the nicest builds I’ve seen. There’re a lot of beautiful details inside.

It really looks like you’re entering a rustic cabin. 

It has plenty seating with storage underneath. 

There’s a shower and a composting toilet, behind the heat stove. 

Small, well-equipped kitchen with plenty storage.

Here’s a lovely feature. 

And, it opens to reveal desk supplies.

Tucked under the large counter is more seating and storage. This bus has a lot of very clever details. 

Finally, there’s a bedroom w/a clothes closet. What a neat skoolie.

“Franny,” the retired Texas Skoolie, doesn’t travel anymore, and is now a stationary rental. 

The driver’s seat still makes a comfy chair.

She’s got a homey vintage hippie vibe.

And, there’s even an artsy porta-potty.

A glamorous converted skoolie, especially if you like turquoise. This is a real beauty. 

White with gray and turquoise accents. Beautiful shiplap and beadboard, too.

I like how the kitchen is separated by the cabinet. 

Sliding barn doors in the hallway. Good sized closet. 

Vanity or desk. 

Bathroom and full-sized shower. 

Lovely bedroom with a wall-mounted flat screen. This bus is a gem.
