Hi, welcome to mah first devlog/blog in general! The game i’m currently working is called ‘Convexity’, a top-down story-driven game with elements of combat, puzzles and 4th wall breaking stuff about a world that has been plunged into darkness following a permanent solar eclipse. At least that’s the idea, anyway.
It’s heavily inspired by the game ‘Oneshot’ as well as Undertale and to a lesser extent a variety of games from the PS1/PS2 era. You play a character who has woken up in an unfamiliar world on the verge of collapse and must find a way to return home. There are several other elements to the story, which i’ll explain in future posts. For now, onto other uh, stuff.
This project is something i’ve been working on on and off for a few months now and i’m hoping this devlog will help motivate me to continue working on it further as well as let people know it actually exists. I’m just going into the last two years of high school and as such progress will be slow and inconsistent, but it’s something i’m incredibly passionate about. I’ve been messing around with smaller projects (though I haven’t released any) since 2016 and though I still have a lot to learn about game-making i’m excited to share more of what I work on with all of you. At this point in time i’m trying to keep the scale of the game as small as possible (5 or 6 hours at most) due to my limited skillset, budget, and time but with a bit of replayability. To give you an idea of how long this project will probably take, I’ve been working on it for nearly half a year now and the current build can be completed in about 5 minutes. I plan on working on it more often from now on, though. Anyway, thanks for reading! Below you’ll find some more screenshots, and some more technical info.
Stay tuned, drink your coffee.
