Very much NOT ORIGINAL. I found a midi of this song online and changed some of the channels to make it sound like chiptune a couple of years ago.
Full credit to @nightmargin for the original track, which you can purchase (along with the rest of Oneshot’s stellar OST) here:
https://nightmargin.bandcamp.com/album/oneshot-soundtrack
also buy the damn game if you haven’t played it yet!

Made for (another) dead project.

My first original track, for a now-cancelled project.
now that undertale’s been announced for the switch, i feel like it’s time to remind everyone again:
regardless of what you think of undertale as a game, it’s completely harmless, so don’t fucking bash others (ESPECIALLY kids) for enjoying it, ya dipstick.
Reminder of some stuff about UT that people seem to have forgotten as well:
–Queer as hell –Nonbinary protag –Open lesbian romance between two important and awesome characters –Many incidental characters with “they” pronouns –Incidental gay romance (you end a boss fight by helping two men realize they love each other hecksake!!) –Main character who is trans or GNC (he gets the body he wants, it’s never defined what his body was before and that is BETTER honestly) –Toby Fox attempted to make good spaces for adults and kids before the game was even popular by asking people to tag adult content “#undertail” –Addresses the effects of abuse and made fandom seriously consider how much responsibility a hurt child holds for actions, and what it means to forgive
Like it or not, Undertale is a hell of a learning space, please let others experience that without “lololol cringe”. Honestly please let others experience everything without “lololol cringe”, it’s 2018 not 2006.
Just gonna copypaste my two cents from last year
I know I bring this up a lot, but I want to say it when I can. Undertale is the number one thing people bring up in regards to “cancerous” fandoms, with Fnaf and homestuck also common in their hayday.
When people rail on a popular fandom, they almost always target indie projects first…. Projects developed by small teams or even just one person. Established franchises, such as Pokemon or Overwatch or what have you, hardly ever get that treatment… and if they do, it’s nowhere near the magnitude. People aren’t ashamed to admit they like Pokemon, despite the fandom doing the same damn thing as Undertale’s for I don’t even know how many years? Overwatch’s fanbase is notorious for harassment, so why do I never see it mentioned in a snide comment every time someone speaks of “bad” video game fandoms? Why is it always Undertale this and Undertale that?
People spit on indie games cuz it’s an easy target. These franchises don’t have the power or history of a big franchise and can easily crash and burn. Even if it does gain a mainstream-like spotlight, it’s fragile. So… instead of condemning artists who had their project succeed, maybe we should lend a closer eye to this bizarre double standard.
and I mean every bit of it, too, this is coming from the standpoint of an indie game dev who’s seen many people actively wanting to prevent our works from reaching a wider audience because of undertale-related cringe culture. like… cute it out, dudes… this shit’s not cute.
oh, and before the inevitable whining about “but the fandom is bad! some kids sent death threats to an artist or fanfic shipper they didn’t like!” as if you really cared about any lick of these people’s wellbeings, why aren’t you rallying against any mainstream MMO with a vitrolic live chat system, like call of duty, where someone actually died?? why are you still cherrypicking on indie projects??? begone!!!
Worst thing as begginer artist is inability to express yourself and put your thoughts into life. Doesn’t matter what the canvas is.
Heres some highlights from my art evolution for Ada!
Convexity Devlog 2
Hi again, and Happy New Year! Sorry for the large-ish gap between my last post, I didn’t really have much to write about. I also had exams which took up a lot of my free time, but it’s the holidays now so I hope to get much more done to make up for it.
This time around I don’t really have a bunch of new content per se, and as such this will probably be sort of brief, and is more of a ‘Hey this project is still a thing!’ update. Recently I took a step back and realised I hadn’t done nearly enough planning for the game ahead and was going in fairly blind, which never used to be a problem as the projects I’ve worked on previously were more learning exercises than anything. After spending a few days of combing through online tutorials I managed to cobble together a display management system of sorts that directly scales the game perfectly to any monitor it’s played on- theoretically anyways, I still need to test that on another computer. Granted I was originally planning on fixing and revamping the game’s lighting system, but as things tend to go in game development, solving one problem created 50 others.
Following this I completely stopped all ‘development’ on the game (that is actually making it within Game Maker: Studio), and went back to the planning stage (which I never really started in the first place). Currently I’m working on a comprehensive GDD (Game Design Document) for the game, which will include a complete outline of the story, mechanics, and everything in-between. At the moment it’s almost half-done, but progress is going smoothly, and I hope to have it completed by the end of the week.
So onto (slightly) less boring stuff, the overall story is pretty much sorted out now, and I’ll talk about it a bit more in future posts. One of my close friends, known by his online alias as ‘Wheatbelt’ kindly decided to revamp one of my art assets for me, as apparently the original placeholder I was using triggered him every time he saw it. Here’s the new sprite he made:
(Thanks heaps btw man this sprite is awesome)
I’m also working on another, far larger project with him and another friend of mine, _Inck (who both lack tumblr accounts- I’ve yet to convert them). This other project is called Cinderverse, if you want to know more about it you can check out our accounts on instagram under _Nu1l (me), wheatbelt_is_trash, _inck, and cinderverse_official. Okay shameless self promotion of other stuff done, onto whatever the hell else I have left to talk about!
Now that I think about it i’m pretty much out of new things to talk about, though I will mention what in particular I plan to work on in the coming months. First and foremost I need to finish the actual groundwork for the game and get most of the basic underlying mechanics built properly. This will also include working on the dialogue system, as well as the addition of combat and a basic inventory system. This inventory won’t be a main focus however, and will mostly be used for carrying items needed for puzzles or that have some use in combat. More on that later.
As always, thanks for reading! The support for my last post caught me completely by surprise, so thank you all very much for showing your interest! Seriously, you guys are great :D
Thanks again, and have a great 2018!

Convexity Devlog 1
Hi, welcome to mah first devlog/blog in general! The game i’m currently working is called ‘Convexity’, a top-down story-driven game with elements of combat, puzzles and 4th wall breaking stuff about a world that has been plunged into darkness following a permanent solar eclipse. At least that’s the idea, anyway.
It’s heavily inspired by the game ‘Oneshot’ as well as Undertale and to a lesser extent a variety of games from the PS1/PS2 era. You play a character who has woken up in an unfamiliar world on the verge of collapse and must find a way to return home. There are several other elements to the story, which i’ll explain in future posts. For now, onto other uh, stuff.
This project is something i’ve been working on on and off for a few months now and i’m hoping this devlog will help motivate me to continue working on it further as well as let people know it actually exists. I’m just going into the last two years of high school and as such progress will be slow and inconsistent, but it’s something i’m incredibly passionate about. I’ve been messing around with smaller projects (though I haven’t released any) since 2016 and though I still have a lot to learn about game-making i’m excited to share more of what I work on with all of you. At this point in time i’m trying to keep the scale of the game as small as possible (5 or 6 hours at most) due to my limited skillset, budget, and time but with a bit of replayability. To give you an idea of how long this project will probably take, I’ve been working on it for nearly half a year now and the current build can be completed in about 5 minutes. I plan on working on it more often from now on, though. Anyway, thanks for reading! Below you’ll find some more screenshots, and some more technical info.
Stay tuned, drink your coffee.

I’ve literally posted this on every interwebs thing I have cos I have nothing better to post. Yay! Anyways if for some strange reason you actually follow my tumblr (srsly I post more literally everywhere else- no hate on tumblr though!) This started out as practice and eventually somehow left my caffeine-infused brain and turned into something decent for a change.
So here’s a thing! It’s from a project i’m working on that i’ll probably abandon within a month :/ Hopefully not though!
eh, anyway this is my first tumblr post! I need coffee!
