Steve was surprisingly relaxed while he drove the to the pier and enjoyed their conversation--he was glad that the craddle robber feeling was fading thpugh the smallest part of him was worried about that, deep deep inside. The thing was--and gosh he hated himself for justifying himself with that, she felt and sounded older and he couldn't shake that feeling, not that he mind when she smiled at him.
"Oh I am so not," he admitted with a deep chuckle as they made it to the restaurant. "I just really like this place, they have good food so even if I mess up big time, the food may give me an edge you see?" he joked but was fully true. Plus he felt comfortable there, he was a regular and no one asked for selfies or cared about who he had been not that long ago.
"So, they have great tacos here, but that's probably not date-appropriate food is it? The pasta isalso great," he explained as he waved at the people behind the counter and one told him that his table was ready. Leading the way to one near a window where they could see the marina, he held the chair for her.
