Sorry I’ve been so absent, guys. I got a shit ton more hours at work, and I’ve been spending a lot of time with my new boyfriend (!!!!!?), so that’s sucked up a lot. But I’m hoping to start getting active again on here and Fred by next week! So don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten you lot :)

They missed the first night, and the only reason for that was so it could remain more of a surprise for his girlfriend. It was much more inconspicuous to drag an unsuspecting witch or wizard into Muggle London in the morning than the evening, anyways. With a wide grin, Fred forced Vati into a white shirt, with a simple “Trust me” whispered to her. He himself was dressed in white shirt and pants, wearing a pair of simple flip-flops.

Spring had just started, so the weather was fairly cool. He held fast to Parvati’s hand as he led her through the streets, his other hand looking at a map with pursed lips. They were getting closer, he knew it. In the distance, it was easy to see a burst of color clouds rising into the air, and Fred grinned. As they reached the gate, the ginger pulled two tickets from his back pocket. He dragged her inside, where they were handed two water guns filled with colored water, and they went into the madness.

“Welcome to the Holi Festival,” he grinned, turning to face her, his eyes bright with excitement. “You told me they’re fun, but you hadn’t been to one in awhile, so I looked it up and...” he shrugged, rubbing his neck.

Trans Characters matter.

Like okay, I don’t have that much of an issue with genderbent characters. I mean, I’d prefer if you made them transgender instead, bc representation, but my biggest problem with that “support Genderbent characters” post is the part that says “Genderbent characters matter!”

No. They don’t. There’s nothing special about them. They’re cisgender, and literally don’t have to worry about walking down the street and getting killed.

Trans characters matters. Give me some fucking diversity here. Give me a character who’s agender. Who’s genderflux. Who’s figuring out their fucking gender identity. Give me trans characters who are confident in themselves.

Why should we care about genderbent characters? What is there to care about?

The transgender community gets such a small amount of representation. I’ve been an avid reader for about fourteen years now. I’ve scoured the Young Adult book shelves, and the only time I’ve ever seen a character that is canonly Trans gender, was in a book released recently called Eon by Alicia Goodman.

Gender bending characters isn’t adding anything to a roleplay. In most cases that I’ve seen, it’s just to make their ship a heterosexual one. There is no dimension added, and so what’s the point? You aren’t adding anything special.

So sorry, but genderbending a character doesn’t make you special, and they don’t matter. There’s no reason for it to matter. Trans Characters matter. Literal, actual, transgender characters. You don’t have to roleplay them through their transitioning, or anything like that. You don’t have to go through their dysphoria (**Not all trans people have dysphoria). Have them be in their mid 20′s, fully transitioned, and completely and utterly happy with who they are.

Give us that representation we need.
