I Redesigned Mystic Flour-

Then again, I never had plans to redesign her, but the people over on my YT said they wanted a redesign of her soooo.... I did it.

As much as I despise Mystic, I will give credit where it's due: she genuinely has a pretty design. But, as always, it's just too detailed for a cookie design. This is supposed to be a game about cookies, not Genshin Impact. But anyways, I gave her a new hanfu with browns and golds, rather than using white and dialed down some of the details. I completely got rid of her long hair because it's really unnecessary, and those little charms on her veil. I gave her some spider legs on her back, because well spider- and shortened the length of her veil.

When analyzing the design, I noticed that Mystic has a transparent fade in her dress that reveals her legs. Girlie, put some shoes on. No one wants to see those damn dogs. She also has the same transparency in her veil, which makes more sense ngl. Those are neat details... but are they REALLY that necessary??? Not really.

When planning this redesign, I only had one idea in mind: acupuncture. A traditional Chinese medical practice where thin needles are inserted in the skin. These needles are supposed to relieve pain and aches. I knew I had to give Mystic an acupuncture needle for her weapon because it fits her character way too well.

HEY why are these children being put in charge of a kingdom

Some thoughts about them in relation to my AU/timeline below :D

AUUUGH I LOVE THESE THREE!! The way their personalities each balance each other out is SO <333 they’re so fun.

After spending the first few months of their life in the Witch’s House before finally escaping, they're let out into the world at the ripe (mental) age of 12. GingerBrave, though not by title, definitely acts as leader of the trio most times. He’s the man with the (usually very stupid) plan and the other two are trying to make sure he doesn’t get himself KILLED. Sometimes it’s hard to understand how these three are even friends, with how vastly different they all are!

And yet they are INSEPARABLE.

Wizard and GingerBrave butt heads a LOT. They care a lot about each other, but GingerBrave’s reckless impulsivity often gets under Wizard’s dough, and his temper is as short as he is </3. Strawberry isn’t great at speaking up when something’s bothering her, so she usually just tries to stay out of the way…And the other two don’t often notice. Whenever they notice her getting insecure, though, they’re always quick to encourage her, in their own way.

Because of their bond and friendship initially forming under a shared need to survive (the Witch’s House was NOT an easy time for them), there’s a lot of underlying issues between them…And a lot of resentment, mostly towards GingerBrave, as the one who usually takes charge and puts himself and his friends in Situations. This surely won’t be an issue in the future!

been getting back into cookie run kingdom lately!

the mechanic of "ascending" cookies has been in the game for at least 2 years now i think? happened about the same time as the ancients were getting awakened. but i thought it'd be fun to conceptualize if the more common cookies could "awaken" and have their own special outfit. so here's the og trio in Kingdom with that concept!

I made lil sprite edits of the gem mermaids, mostly just for character design practice-

I leaned heavily on what parts of the ocean they'd likely been based on. Crimson's likely the community and protector of her pod/kingdom, so I wanted her to be more armored up and battle damaged with a subtle shark aethstetic. {i'm sorry I didn't touch her sea horse, just assume they look they exact same}

Aquamarine strikes me as the more emotionally available one that cares for the pod in a more intimate way compared to Crimson. Say tending to young when parents are busy collecting food, hearing the community out and taking it to her sisters for assistance and just being an extra set of hands. Citrine is the one who is typically in charge of construction and just general aethstetic of their homes, but who's true passion is planning celebrations. just generally likes to keep moral and spirits high for the pod. Opal seems like someone based deeply in the deep zones of the ocean, so I just leaned more heavily into that. using the rainbow colors of opals as an excuse to snag the rainbow bioluminescence of a lot of marine life down there. And she's relied on for predictions of the sea and general worship of the mighty sea and the tear.

And darling little Pearl. I gave her more blues and darker colors, specifically the black with sparkles on her "skirt" to better fit with her whole moon theming.
