Don't feel bad about it. More ants are killed by rainstorms then by poisoning. And if it's the actual poisoning part that's bothering you, then you should know that most modern ant-poisons are derived from the poisons that trees make to kill ants.

Oh man I can't even remember exact brand names. I'd just get whatever they had at the hardware store. Usually Raid ant traps. I've had good luck with them.
