I think I somehow jammed my finger seasoning my cast iron today. The joys of being a chef! #transchef #cookingprobs #jammedfinger (at Castro District)
Tales of a Young Adult learning how to cook
Yesterday, something crazy happened. I was making french toast, and while it was cooking I decided to cut some strawberries that I wanted to put on top. When I stepped away and started chopping away, idk how but like one of the bolt looking things that connects the pan to the pan handle shot off of the pan, hit the ceiling, and then the floor. Also, when it shot off, a really astoundingly loud firework kind of bang really messed up my hearing for a good 30 seconds. When it went off, I was staring at the ground and saw the bolt hit the ground and I couldn't hear and it was just scary. There was a slight moment of panic and I thought I was going to die. Idk I guess I thought I was getting shot (of course, so logical...lmao) but then felt nothing, except for my ears being basically useless. And then everything was okay but then I was terrified the other bolt would do the same. However, it didn't and I'm glad I didn't get injured. And I thank the lord for strawberries because I probably would have been injured if I was standing near the pan.
Why do crazy things like this happen when I cook? It's not all the time, but it's kind of becoming a normal-ish thing. lol. Send help.
