I was tagged by lovely @moth-kissed-witch to share 4 non-selfie photos, thanks for thinking of me!
1. Our staffy, Fester, at a stone circle near Aberfeldy. Taken on our recent trip there. Gorgeous walks, which Fester especially loved! Being among trees did me the world of good, too.
2. Speaking of trees. This is an amazing one on a walk near us. The shape is so unusual, I find it absolutely mesmerising.
3. The best picture of the full moon I've ever managed to get. I was so pleased with it!
4. Rodney (after Dr Rodney McKay from Stargate!) and Callisto, two of my beloved companions, on holiday to Germany with me last December. We went to the Xmas markets and for an epic, snowy walk round a Narnia like frozen lake.
Tagging @sheydmade, @highestelf420, @mossandfae, and @sagittariuswitchery to join in if you'd like to!
Your thorn in me.
The tree.
In my ongoing trans quest of self discovery, I felt it good to change my name online.
But I wanted a pun in it, or for it to otherwise be funny. I love the way some Finnish Tumblr users are named on here, where it's 2-3 words mashed together, where 1+2 and 2+3 words are a compound word. But I couldn't figure out something that neat that still filled all the boxes I wanted, primarily the next bit.
I really like Katja as a name,I don't know why. But fortune strikes me, I am in luck! For it is very similar to Kataja(meaning juniper, the tree) and a species of it is Kotikataja(directly translating to HomeJuniper) so that was the first pun I went for.
However, my luck did not stop there. In my dumbassery there is genius, for Koti-Katja is also extremely similar to Koti-Kalja, a common drink translating to Home-Beer(I don't think it actually has alcohol in it, I also don't enjoy it.)
So now there IS two puns in the name and I think that's awesome and so very cool.
With writing this I did find also katajanmarja (junipers berry) which I could also integrate, though I don't know if it makes things too complicated. Or make it increasingly runic and undecipherable for non-finnish speakers, or even to Finnish speakers, if I don't explain it.
Koti-katjan-marja. Decisions decisions. Names are funky.
