I'm a queer, middle aged witch, writer, maker from Scotland.
My witchcraft is a hodgepodge of the elements, Saturn, the Morrigan, geekery, intuition, and chaos.
The Wheel of the Year and daily earth magic ground me.
Late diagnosed (36) autism, and CPTSD robbed me of myself for decades. A bad, bad autistic burnout a few years ago killed the rest of my confidence, energy, and worth.
I'm clawing it back in earth, bones, magic, and embodied practices. In writing, knitting, gardening, embroidery, exercise, tea, reading,* tarot, and all the other things that fulfill me.
Reclaiming my creativity, my passion, my unmasked self.
Unacceptable - TERFs, SWERFs, other bigots, AI "art," (please tell me if I share anything ai or otherwise problematic, I can't always tell), individualism, capitalism, the witchy/wellbeing to right wing pipeline,
*Alastair Reynolds, Tamora Pierce, Tolkien, NK Jemisin, Becky Chambers, Nalo Hopkinson, Iain M Banks, Mary Shelley, all the short stories, Ursula K Le Guin, Gail Carriger, Nicky Drayden, John Wyndham, Nnedi Okorafor, among many others...
**Star Trek (especially Lower Decks!), Stargate (especially Atlantis!), Bob's Burgers, Taskmaster, Babylon 5, Futurama, Black Books, Derry Girls, We Are Lady Parts, to name but a few of my TV loves...films too many to mention but two of my all time favourites are Galaxy Quest and Hot Fuzz (LOTR off to the side in its own category!)
(The images are how I see, work or feel her energy; she very well may appear in a different lens to you)
Morrigan Goddess
raven mother
washer woman; red river drips
warrior spill, in shades of crimson
and death’s drill.
A banshee cry, raven flight,
protection of battle knights,
revealing names of loss,
upon the land as tossed.
winging skyward
I espy cutting crimson,
waving scythe fall upon
the neck of Ireland’s
dreams.
From Ulster once more
I fly, silence stills
the fleeting eye
guttural gurgling,
the pyre is nigh.
And sovereignty,
it comes too late
for those of whom shall,
taste their fate
upon the crimson ground;
fool will ride again
and ignorance
crescendos it's din,
my duty, will it
never end...
In the darkened
watery glass, I view
the future and the past;
eyes forever upwards cast
come, come feathered friend;
we’ll take the time to mend,
then begin, again.

She is the drumming beat of our heart at war, the falling feathers as a crow takes flight. The voice that calls from the psychic mind. She is the determination within our soul when we stand up for what is right. She is the grief as we slowly let go, and she is the warrior, the Queen and the call of Death. She is the Morrigan, and she knows your fate. A walker between the veil, she teaches us to honour our shadows, to overcome our fears of our 'dark side' and to show up as the true sovereign within our own life.
·•—–٠✤٠—–•·
Though she is only recently introduced to the Gods I call upon, her energy is noticeable, it is bold and cannot be denied as strong and true. It feels to me that she has always been slightly there, watching, observing and waiting until the time was right for both our energies to align. The few ways I am connecting to An Morrigan include
I have involved her in my divination practice, whether that be through scrying, casting charms/bones, and soon, when she has decided, I will dedicate one of my card decks to her energy alone (as I have already done so for Brigid) though as I write this she is bringing me an image of my Canes Arcanae deck so I guess she favours choosing that one right now, makes sense with hounds being one of her favoured animals .
In shadow work and journaling, she brings forth truths that I must explore and perhaps accept before I can move on.
She is a strong advocate for acknowledging our shadow and darkness within; it does not make us evil to not always exist in the light, for all healthy things should be balanced, that is how we come to know ourselves.
In my witchcraft, she is present to inspire and remind me that I need not falter or doubt in staying true to the path that calls, no matter the opinions others may say; they do not matter at the end of the day.
In honouring the cycles of life and death within me and the world at large. Grief is not a negative; it is an acceptance and a call to rest that we must learn to accept.
She aids me in keeping a mindset of growth, to learn and unlock truths I may seek, whether that be in study or self.
Finally, I have a small patch in my garden I have made into a graveyard of sorts, in honour of her and any lost souls, so they may feel rest, even if only for a brief spell.

I have not given many offerings to An Morrigan yet, something which I need to change! Though here is a small list of what I feel she may enjoy receiving.
Corvid Feathers
Honouring Death & Caring for Ancestral graves/sites.
Red Wine
Storm water
Apples
Mugwort, be it as herb or incense
Yew Tree &/or its flowers.
Having courage/ Fighting against injustice for yourself or others.
That is all that has come to my mind so far as I continue to learn and grow with An Morrigan as a new mentor and Guide, as I continue my path and journey. If anyone has been working with her for longer, feel free to share how you feel and work with her energy, or any other offering ideas you feel she may enjoy. I feel like she gets kind of bad rep as some cruel punisher, when, sure, she's strict, but she's also fair.

Litha, also known as midsummer or the summer solstice, is a Pagan sabbat that honors the longest day of the year and the height of the sun's power. It's a time of light, abundance, and connection to nature. There are infinite ways to create a sacred space that captures the essence of the summer solstice, but here are just a few to get you started.
Choose a Sacred Space
Select a location for your Litha altar that feels harmonious and tranquil. It could be indoors or outdoors, depending on your preferences and available space. Consider placing it near a window to invite in the sun's rays or under a tree to connect with the earth's energy.
Colors of the Solstice
Embrace the vibrant hues of summer by incorporating colors that symbolize the sun and its energy reflected in nature. Opt for warm shades like gold, yellow, orange, and green. These colors evoke the energy of vitality, growth, and abundance.
Sun Symbols
Since Litha revolves around the power of the sun, incorporating sun symbols on your altar is a wonderful way to honor this celestial force. Decorate with solar discs, light catchers, sunflowers, prisms, Helios statuettes, ojos de dios, solar inspired artwork, or sun candles. These symbols remind us of the sun's life-giving energy and its powerful presence during the summer solstice.
Florals
Celebrate the beauty of nature's bounty during Litha by adorning your altar with a selection of fresh, seasonal flowers. Sunflowers, daisies, St John’s Wort, and marigolds are excellent choices. Arrange them in vases or make garlands and wreaths to hang around your sacred space. The vibrant colors and sweet scents will infuse your altar with a delightful atmosphere.
Elemental Representations
Litha is a time to honor the elements and their harmonious interplay. Consider incorporating representations of fire, water, earth, and air on your altar. Candles can represent fire, seashells or a small bowl of water for water, crystals or stones for earth, and feathers or incense for air. These elemental symbols help create balance and align your altar with the natural energies of the season.
Symbols of Abundance
As Litha celebrates the abundance of the Earth, include symbols of prosperity and growth on your altar. Wheat, corn, berries, honeycomb, and seasonal fruits like strawberries, peaches,or cherries can be placed in baskets or on decorative gold bowls. These symbols express gratitude for the bounty of the sun and the abundance it provides.
Ritual Tools and Divination
If you work with ritual tools or divination methods, consider placing them on your Litha altar. This might include a wand, a cauldron, a chalice, runes, or a tarot deck. These tools act as conduits for your intentions and can be charged with the heightened energy of the summer solstice.
queer + trans tarot 🌈 queering the court + breaking its binary
i’m constantly driving this point home, but i’ll say it again: the court cards aren’t about other people. they all represent some aspect of you, some part of your self that you have access to, and can embody or call on for support any time. 💫 it’s already a very queer undertaking – understanding that you’re not just a page, or a queen, but you have all of these energies already within you, regardless of how you associate them with masculinity or femininity. 💛 i’m going to dive deeper into this topic in this post – we’ll start with how you can understand each of these energies more holistically, then talk about how to divorce gender norms from these archetypes.
what the court cards do, and don’t, represent
i’m a huge proponent for a secular, healing-centric take on the tarot. in my lineage, tarot is about you – not how others feel or think or interact with you, but how you show up in the world, what you feel, the things you think but can’t surface to the front of your mind. 💫 and like i talked about in my first post in this series, queering the tarot is an ongoing project that requires us to open up our imagination and be open to the possibility that we’re changing our minds on how these energies work. 💛
the court cards are a major part of this – they’re not showing up to tell you some tall, dark handsome is coming into your life. they’re asking you to honor the part of yourself that’s represented by the fiery, active movement of the knight, or the compassionate, nurturing part that shows up with the queens. 💛 the court cards aren’t easy to wrap our heads around, though, so i’m going to give you a cheat sheet in the next section that gives you a shortcut to understanding these energies.
the energies of the court cards
tarot isn’t quite plug-and-play, but a blend of energies; sixes tend to speak to exchange, but that’s modulated by the suit of the minor arcana it’s within, right? it’s the same with the court cards. i’m going to run down what’s typically showing up with each of the members of the court so we can start to understand where the gendered assumptions come into play and start to untangle those from the ungendered archetypes. 💛
🌈 pages: pages are an unconditioned, vulnerable archetype. they’re playful, dreamy, and imaginative; they haven’t been burdened by social programming, so they don’t think in “shoulds” or “musts,” only in “can” and “may.” when a page shows up, it’s usually inviting you to root down into that energy and get curious instead of judgemental or thinking things should or must be a certain way, and instead ask why.
🌈 knights: knights are like movement embodied – they speak to how we move around in the world, how we engage with others, how we show up when it’s time to take action. they usually show up for us when we need to know how to do something.
🌈 queens: the queens are great figures of creation – magic, alchemy, and transformation all live within these cards. they show up when we know things must change, but don’t know how to do it. they’re here to show us how to partner with our intuition, get to know ourselves, and interact with the world. if pages answer the “why” and knights answer the “how,” queens are about the “what.” they’re great partners in identifying our needs and desires.
🌈 kings: the kings are embodied, wise actors. they’re a culmination of all of the work we’ve done so far: after figuring out all the logistics, they simply do. the kings show up when we need a role model for this active energy, and represent all the ways we have these abilities within us.
hopefully you can see that none of these energies are, inherently, gendered. 💛 tarot is a human project and humans are all tangled up and bogged down in gender roles, so when we see a playful or nurturing card, we tend to assume there’s an inherent femininity, and when we see an active or leadership energy, we think it’s masculine. that is not ever the case, nor does it mean these energies are exclusive to one subset of the population or another. the manliest man in the world still has the queen of cups within him; a nonbinary person isn’t excluded from any one of these energies. 💛
next up, we’ll be looking at my favorite transgender narrative in the tarot deck – the sequence starting with XI Justice and ending with XIV Temperance – and how these cards can be used to represent a gender transition journey 💛
I've been thinking of making an updated, transparent version of my original Pride Protection Sigil for a while now, so I figured Pride Month was a perfect moment for it! I remade the shapes I could in photoshop, copied the thorny vines from the original, and then made a bunch of different community ones (see more under the cut).
I've designed this sigil as a protection for the entire rainbow community. You can print it out or redraw it yourself. Place a candle over it, use it as a base of a crystal grid, place it on your altar and meditate, make it the centre of a (digital) moodboard, whatever feels right for you.
The centre of the sigil is the Progress Pride flag, symbolizing our community (you can redraw the sigil and place a different flag inside, if you wish to focus on a specific part of the community). Around it is a black circle (protection, community) which is made by five stickfigures holding hands (people, community). Around them is a square (protection) and then a ring of intertwined briar branches with the thorns pointing outwards (again, protection). On the right side I also snuck the rune Thurisaz (briar, protection) into the ring of briar branches. The pentacle in the centre stands for magic as well as, surprise, protection. Customize this for whatever you need, the pentacle is optional, place more stickfigures, change the flag, whatever makes it work for you.
I never actually shared my battle vest, I realized. So here are the front and back for now, I'm sure it will gain more stuff over the years.
Some highlights:
bee buddy on my shoulder
anti bigotry sigil
queer protection sigil
paladin backpatch which is my own design
"see the beauty" sigil
die/hun are Dutch "they/them" pronouns and not a statement of murder xD
polymer donuts I made over a decade ago
pins from @prideknights (the painter and writer)
pins and sigil for Venaris, Goddess of beauty and art
I was thinking about making a rainbow spread based on the pride flag colours, but Interrobang Tarot beat me to it! Not only that, it's part of a free e-book with seven queer inspired spreads! Go check it out
There are infinite genders and sexual identities. Each one deserves the same space and respect as the next. Each one brings something unique and necessary to a circle should they choose to do magic with us.
White supremacy upholds ideals and expectations that harm everyone, and must fall. Even though white supremacy harms everyone, white people must not center themselves in discussion of it or in plans or spellwork for making it fall.
Because we are fighting white supremacy, queer magicians must work hard not to appropriate sacred religious artifacts, aesthetics, and even deities that do not belong to us.
Sex magick is powerful and beautiful, and like anything sexual, most hold up the idea that informed and enthusiastic consent is mandatory. Our queered-up version of sex magic also fights rape culture, patriarchy, heteronormativity, and cisnormativity.
Though we are anti-capitalist we recognize the constraints of the society we live in and know that money magic is often critical and empowering for those living in the margins.
We recognize that Goddess does not equal womb worship and that anyone can invoke Goddess energy.
We recognize that some witches may have physical, emotional, or mental limits that cannot be overcome with spirituality. We welcome these witches to bring their whole, real selves into a magical space and cast spells in the way that works best for them.
We recognize that individual traumas may need to be healed before we move on to collective work.
Queer witchcraft can and does include manifesting personal desires so long as they don't impede someone else's autonomy and consent. People who have suffered and been marginalized deserve pleasure, and magic is a great tool for bringing that into being. Manifesting those personal desires is often necessary in a healing journey that needs to happen before we can become empowered.
Magic is a tool for personal healing that leads to empowerment. This empowerment enables us to focus on social progress, empowering others, and collective liberation.
Global climate change is killing us all and we must protect and attempt to heal the Earth. This must be a magical priority for queer witchcraft.
Hierarchies do not work in a queer magical context. We are equals, even if our jobs in a group working are different.
All bodies are capable of and deserving of magic. All bodies are capable of and deserving of the joy and manifestation magic can bring
Hi everyone! After a much longer wait than I initially intended, I have finally finished my book on herb associations, and have uploaded a PDF version to both ko-fi and Google Drive. Furthermore, if you're interested in a fully formatted version that is suitable for book-binding, I have added a $2 listing for that as well. If you're not into that, no worries! I am absolutely fine just providing it for free.
I decided to create this project after finding myself largely dissatisfied by the information available on the mass market--often being Wicca leaning or at least heavily influenced. I decided I wanted to create a (mostly) non-denominational, secular, baneful magic friendly resource guide. Because I largely sourced from other practitioners or the internet, I wanted to provide this for free, as the information is not inherently my intellectual property. The reason why I do have a paid version is purely for the effort I went through, and only if you feel like supporting me.
Again, this book is NOT my intellectual property, and this information is readily available online, I just decided to put all of it in one place.
KO-FI (FREE)
KO-FI (PRINTABLE)

Nature generally, and being among trees in particular. My devotional spaces, queer ancestors altar etc. My witchy garden under the little rowan, above where we buried our beloved Pigdog.
32. top five favorite vines?
Genuinely can't tell if this is about wee videos or plants! But since I only know plants...honeysuckle, clematis, passionflower, ivy, and jasmine!
The rhubarb is from my mothers garden and i absolutely had to make some tasty dessert with it!! So i made a simple crumble based off this apple crumble recipe. I simply had 4 cups of the various fruits (and veggie) and i coated the rhubarb in a bit of sugar to help with the tartness.
Wash them first, and then you can draw a sigil or even a padlock on the top or bottom corner of your mirrors. (Wash with regular window cleaner)
For sigil prompts it could be like: "this mirror is closed and locked from spirit energy/entry", "this mirror is locked from being a portal." Or whatever wording you would like to use.
Hope this helps.
