              hello  hello   !        you  can  call  me  red  and  i’m  super  pumped  to  be  here  playing  your  resident  over - eager  cryptozoologist .  i’m  rewatching  loch  ness  &  chill  out  and        wow        can  i  just  say  shannon  blake  really  dealt  with  too  much        (   people  were  rude  straight  to  her  face ,  shaggy  and  scooby  wouldn’t  eat  the  food  she  spent  so  much  time  making ,  a  museum  director  threw  a  caber  through  a  window  of  her  home  and  then  acted  like  it  was  fine     ???   and  then  destroys  her  dock   ???   ) .      so  yeah ,  shannon  blake  deserved  better  and  white  40+ ?  male  academics  are  the  true  monsters  of  the  scoobyverse  and  while  that’s  the  energy  we  have  going  into  this  intro  it  really  has  nothing  to  do  with  my  boy  but ...   yeah ,  here  we  go   ! !

okay  so  first  and  foremost ,  despite  all  the  times  the  strange  happenings  in  coolsville  have  been  proven  to  be  just  hoaxes  orchestrated  by  people ,   del  is  a  believer .  he’ll  swear  up  and  down  he  saw  the  ohio  grassman  on  a  family  camping  trip  when  he  was  nine  and  that’s  really  where  it  all  started .  no  one  believed  him ,  and  it  became  a  sore  spot  for  del .  he’s  been  trying  to  prove  cryptids  are  real  since .

he’s  taken  on  the  personal  mantle  of  protector  of  the  cryptozoological .  when  things  begin  to  go  wrong  he  usually  thinks  it’s  because  of  something  humans  are  doing  to  disturb  them   (   see :  him  thinking  that  the  reason  nessie  was  freaking  out  was  because  she  was  being  disturbed  by  the  games   ) .  this  is  the  other  reason  he  wants  to  prove  they’re  real ,  so  people  will  respect  them .

strong  hippie  energy .  says  he  wants  to  vibe  with  nessie  and  honestly  he’s  valid  for  it .  has  for  sure  said  the  same  thing  about  bessie . would vibe with any cryptid  to  good  music  which  is  something  he  also  knows  a  good  deal  about .  his  brain  is  a  sponge  for  useless  factoids  and  is  the  kind  of  guy  who  reads  the  liner  notes .  has  a  pretty  substantial  record  collection .

traveled  a  bunch  as  a  young  adult ,  basically  going  legend  tripping  exclusively .  traveled  over  the  us  in  a  van  tracking  down  sighting  spots  and  the  like .  honestly ,  if  he  had  been  born  ten  years  later  he  could  have  had  one  of  those  #vanlife  youtube  channels .  because  of  this  though  he’s  surprising  good   with  mechanical  stuff !  he’s  good  at  fixing  things  when  they  inevitably  break .

pretty  easy  going !  he  doesn’t  get  worked  up  about  a  large  number  of  things  besides  the  protecting  of  cryptids .  just  kind  of  goes  with  the  flow  and  tries  to  be  helpful .

currently  works  as  a  news  cameraman  for  hbtv  but  it’s  half  just  so  he  can  be  on  scene  when  things  happen .  is  real  close  to  being  fired  for  he’s  been  known  to  derail  a  program  because  he’s  ranting  from  behind  the  camera  and  decides  to  film  something  specific  he  thinks  is  important .

interesting  fashion  choices .  iconic  purple  lens  lennon  glasses .  cargo  pants .  lots  of  questionable  graphic  t  shirts .  rope  and  leather  bracelets .

he’s  almost  positive  that  all  these  disappearances  are  an  upset  cryptid  and  so  he’s  on  board  to  solve  the  mystery  as  far  as  solving  it  means  figuring  out  how  they  pissed  the  ohio  frog  man  out . . .   yeah  that’s  the  theory  he’s  running  with  currently .

Really really loved the mystery gang and all theyre adventures almost to a weird admiration- he posted all their articles on his bedroom wall because they were just that cool to him 

Part of him really wanted to know why the gang dissappited even blaming himself to a degree but a push from his mother convinced him to do other pursuits 

He moved out to Silicon Valley, tried to make his game at his university based on the mystery gang but was ultimately folded out by his own paer

Eric just put his mysery games on a hiatus, decided to us pesue his dege and work on other projects (even that one dating sim game he put a pen name because even he knew it was a disaster

Saw an ad in the paper for a gaming engineer adjunct at Coolsville University and thought at least it was a paycheck

elodie had always been surrounded by music. from an early age, elodie took on multiple different instruments (drums being her favorite) as well as vocal lessons. her father was a musician and her mother was into theater, so both theater and music had a heavy influence on the young girl.

in high school, elodie was approached by one of her friends about putting a little band together. that small band then became what’s known today as the hex girls. elodie took on the stage name/nickname of dusk.

slowly but surely, the hex girls became more and more popular as the three finished high school and went on to their college age years.

elodie decided she would also pursue a degree in music as more or less of a back up plan with all sorts of creepy things popping up along the way. dusk wasn’t for it and was planning on leaving the band if more strange thinks kept occurring to them.

later on, elodie decided it was probably best to settle down as much as she could. now, when she isn’t with the hex girls, she’s teaching music and really enjoying it. she’ll honestly answer to either elodie or dusk, but i feel like now especially she just goes by elodie.

- Ben grew up in a town, he moved in with his grandma when he was 13 after his parents died. He has lived in this town more than he hasn’t lived in it. When he arrived, he was an angry and confused young boy. He would have done anything for his grandma who took him in and raised him. But outside of them? He was argumentative and fought his classmates. He didn’t have a great reputation or many friends.

- The one thing he always loved was reading mystery novels. He loved books and reading but always favored the mystery genre.

- Ben did go to university just on his grandma’s urging and pleading. He studied English which shocked no one that knew him or knew anything of him.

- He was in his sophomore year when his grandma passed. He left university, sad and angry once again. He had been left everything and to deal with feelings besides fighting— that was when he started to write.

- He doesn’t have the greatest reputation in town which he knows but doesn’t care all that much. Unless he needs something from someone or wants to present himself in a different way….for his favor. More about his reputation will be worked on as I form past connections and enemy connections for him so please give me reasons!!

- Ben is the last of his family and lives in a big old house all by himself which many view as both odd and fitting. As a horror writer, it makes sense he’d want to live in this big, old, empty, and drafty all by himself

- Ben is a successful horror writer but does use a pseudonym to at least have an air of mystery around him. It is pretty well known secret to those in town but outside Coolsville, Ben Ravencroft is almost a no-body which he both loves and hates. He was the recognition but he also doesn’t want perceptions of him to affect sales.

- velma, of course, is a former member of mystery inc and she is actually proud of that fact. even though she’s stubborn, it would only take her a few drinks to  admit that she’d like to get the gang back together.

- she has a younger half-sister, madelyn, and her mother and stepfather are both the light of her life. family is super important to velma and she still goes to dinners every sunday with them.

- as a teenager, velma was a girl genius. she spent most of her time with her head buried in a book and always researching obscure information. it makes sense that she’s working at a museum now where research is the main component of her job.

- girl genius here split off from the gang to go to school, she ended up at princeton for her degree in history. she graduated summa cum laude (the highest distinction).

- during college her glasses got dropped one too many times and she’s traded them in for contacts, it’s a new look but she vibes with it. her classic orange sweater is still in play, though.

- overall, she’s still really passionate about mysteries and solving them. everyday at work she has to pass by the displays that show the villains her and the gang already hunted down and it inspires her to keep going.

- with new teenagers turning up missing, velma is definitely interested in hunting whoever the culprit is down.

- she is an optimist while also being totally skeptical. while some of the townspeople are always blaming things on “supernatural” occurrences, velma is absolutely set in the idea that there will always be a scientific explanation. she also believes that there will always be a way to solve a case.

- might take her a while to warm up to new people. she definitely is a little bit iffy when it comes to opening herself up now. after making such close friends with the mystery inc crew than losing that, she just feels awkward.

- big fan of mystery novels and books in general, her computer always has 10000 tabs open and when she accidentally closes one she cries a lil bit, her favorite color is orange, and her idea of a good time is searching for a perpetrator in a graveyard.

she’s adopted, and raised by cam, coolsville’s favorite newscaster at HBTV. she works at HBTV as an intern and sometimes provides some ‘ young insight ’ to certain stories. 

growing up as the daughter of coolsville's favorite newscaster, xuan was always the happy go lucky girl in school. she's very optimistic in any situation, and working with her mother has given her an astute intellegence -- she can pick up on things some people miss, but she also isn't the brightest bulb when it comes to school or what people would consider smart. however, she has a tendency to be resentful if anyone says something mean or demeaning to her, as well as careless when chasing down a story.

she used to solve mysteries when she was younger, but it faded when she was in high school in favor of social status and parties. she didn’t care much for school, grades slipping and everyone seeing her as a preppy dumb girl. this stayed with her until her mother had a cancer scare, pushing her to realize she couldn’t live off her mother’s small town fame her whole life.

now, she’s doing everything she can to get away from that image. 

she has quite a following outside of coolsville on tiktok, though it’s nothing completely viral.

these disappearances have reignited her spark for mysteries and has started trying to solve it on her own.

hi, everyone! this is my second muse, bill/will/william (we’ll talk about his name and stigma in a second). he’s based on a canon character you might remember from scooby doo and the cyber chase, and he was the villain in that video. let’s get on with my adaptation of him for this group:

- so, will is not a coolsville native. he only moved there for college and was getting a computer science degree.

- huge nerd for video games, movies, coding, and anything that has to do with technology. tells everyone to use duckduckgo and to get a vpn that isn’t free lol.

- he’s been that way since he was a child, and being an only child he was used to having the limelight and being celebrated for his inventive ideas surrounding computers.

- when he got to college he realized he wasn’t the only brilliant boy in the world, and the jealousy hit hard. mainly he was jealous of his best friend and fellow intern on a college video game project (this might be eric, might not be - depends on how either @ericstauffer wants to play it or otherwise!)

- he got kicked out of coolsville university’s program because of his hacking/cheating scandal when he put a virus into his friend’s game to make his own game appear better.

- finished his education at ohio state university, decided to pursue not only computer science but double-majored in education too.

- liked coolsville so much that he moved back and now he is trying to live a quiet, less exciting life as a teacher. mainly teaches ap computer science, typing, and graphic design electives.

- he goes by will or william now with people who didn’t know him before the scandal. he chose that because bill mclemore is infamously known from his little incident as the phantom virus creator.

- not the biggest fan of mysteries or mystery incorporated because of his experiences. honestly still a little envious and likely to act up if he wants to get his way.

who would have thought the terrified foodie would end up pursuing a college degree and become one of the greatest history teacher’s coolsville middle ever had?

if he was honest, shaggy loved solving mysteries with the gang. no matter how terrified he got, there was always adrenaline to follow and for some reason, he loved that feeling. 

as the group dismembered, shaggy found himself wondering what the hell he was going to do. so, he pursued a history degree at first and then ended up getting his teaching license. he honestly surprised his parents with that. 

now, he’s enjoying what he does but secretly hoping the gang will get together to solve the cases that keep popping up.
