Well at least when you're saying 'fuck you' to me, you could send me an ask so I can clearly see it because I'm the original poster of this gifset you just reblogged. I deleted the original post because obviously I didn't choose the right words to explain what I think since I think you totally got it wrong. Did I say there was something wrong with this fanart ? I don't think so. I've said it wasn't representative of all the fandom, it was a part of it. Well excuse me, what's wrong with that ?

Actually, you did. You called it obscene and went on about how you don't want to be lumped in with the people who produced it. I don't have the original text since you altered it, but there was also a very nasty slant on "why would you show them THAT?"

So when you go on about how awful it is to show Tom something like that, and how obscene it is, and how the fandom isn't like THAT, what you're doing is being incredibly rude and insulting to the fanartist who made the piece.

Someone who had their artwork taken, without their permission, and used as part of a nasty joke. Someone who spent time and effort on their piece and who had posted it in the appropriate venue and no intention of shoving it anyone's face. Someone who spends time looking up obscure passages in Old Norse poems and comparing scholarly translations of them because she's incredibly interested in the primary source material of the myths. Someone who writes a lot of interesting, thoughtful meta about Loki. That is the person who was being made fun of and who you don't want to be associated with.

That particular piece of artwork wasn't even of Hiddleston's Loki.

Yes, it was rude to show Tom explicit fanart just to watch him squirm, but at the same time, it's one of those things he probably expects as part of his job. 

People are so quick to try and distance themselves because they don't want to be like us, and really, what the fuck is wrong with us? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. 

I've spent the whole weekend seeing people go on about how poor Tom was victimized and how gross it was without acknowledging that there was another person who also the butt of the joke and in going on about how gross it was realizing you are calling another fan gross and making fun of her artwork.

I tend to not send asks because I like to keep my bitching transparent and out in the open, but I did check the gif blog it was posted on and there was no open ask box with which to have sent a message anyway.
