Casting Dragon update:

The Hoard has grown.

The Hoard has tripled in size. It now contains twenty-six copper coins, four copper plates, and a tiny protector for when the Casting Dragon is away.

Not the best pictures, but I might as well show off my two most recent copper figurines!

The top one's a cloaked dude with a secret skullface, lower one's meant to be a humanoid horned lizard, inspired by my town's own Tumamoc Hill.

I would say her body type's "Venus of Willemdorf," but really, all those of us who are properly internet-poisoned know on our heart of hearts, it's the Midna bodytype...

So, I got my copper-cast minifigures shown off at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show! That was impressive (tho I didn't actually go to the location because it cost 13 goddamn bucks for admission)

And it turns out, from these promo pics they took for 'em, they actually look pretty good when properly polished and not shot on a cell phone camera in un-ideal lighting! Whoda thunk!

So, made another thing in copper casting class!

It's a pretty simple kitbash of a zombie dog minifig, a dinosaur's tail and a plastic skull, and a bit crusty like most of my creations, but folks liked it so much they're considering showing it off as an example of casting at the gem show!

I call it "doggo of Nagash," cauuse I was thinking of it in terms of gaming minis and, well, Warhammer Fantasy is the big one and all, so yeah...

Behold, I have cast a Minotaur in copper! Specifically for this lil "labyrinth" my therapist has on her ranch, because every labyrinth oughta have a minotaur!

The fig was kitbashed from a couple o mini figures, using a dollar store mini He-Man body as a base, with some skeleton mini parts for the bones on the base and the arm-holding-a-sword as weapon, and the head of a zombie dog figure with some holes dremeled into it to put fork tines as the head, and also some tattered clothes made from a sheet of sculpting wax!

Then I just got it  cast with the usual lost wax techniques, and voila, a slightly crusty but very metallic minotaur! Screaming in anguish at its own lonely, abandoned existence! #Relatable!

So, to help out friend of the blog @therobotmonster , who's going through some hard times, I decided to buy one of their BMOG sets, which're basically a combination of Transformers weapons pack and building toy using 5mm pegs!

And, since I got an extra sprue of the kit in the same colors as the others, I decided what the hey, why not cast one of the parts in copper in my metal casting class! And so I did! And I may as well show it off, along with showing it in use with Greenlight (And a very unfortunate Injector).

Again, Trent's fallen on some hard times, and they're really talented as a creator, so I might as well ask y'all if you want some neat toy stuff, maybe buy one of those BMOG kits linked above, or buy one of their cool minifigs or accessories from their Shapeways, or heck even check out their project they do with @siphersaysstuff , called Isle of Rangoon!

It's a show where they riff on things with puppets! And sometimes do stuff like talk about eps of an obscure genre show from the 90s, or talk about vintage video game bestiaries (Which I really hope they return to one of these days)...
