Summary: There's some confusion about names.

The valise was heavy, and the night was chaotic with the wail of sirens and the flash and crump of explosions. After centuries, it seemed impossible that he could get lost in London, but there it was: halfway to St. Dunstan’s he’d found his path blocked by rubble and had to take a side turning, and now he was hopelessly disoriented, in an alley when he should have been in Great Tower Street – searchlights crossing in the sky above him, sirens beginning to wail. A cat meowed, and – “Hello? Hello? This is the Doctor speaking. How may I help you?”

Aziraphale Fell isn’t exactly in the closet, but he’s not made it much further out than the hat-stand. The hairdresser at the spa where he’s just taken a job is far too flamboyant for his liking – doubtless, that’s why he can’t get the man out of his mind. His boss is a grouchy, nonbinary terror, who has an inexplicable soft spot for a priggish conservative MP from Oxfordshire. His best friend can’t stop predicting he’s fated to couple up soon. And the rent is due.

Summary: It was Crowley who was meant to be bad -- well, Aziraphale supposed he was, but in the way the Artful Dodger or Scaramouche was bad: a little swagger, a little deviousness. He glued coins to pavements, for Heaven’s sake. (Or not.) He brought down the networks of those annoying MyPhones that made everyone isolated in crowds and jangled in the theatre at critical moments. If Crowley was evil, Aziraphale wasn’t sure he wanted to be good any more.

Comments: This is a great character study of Aziraphale, with a bit of his analysis of Crowley thrown in. First confessions, Crowley learning to accept being called ‘nice’, this is just a lovely, lovely piece.

Storm Doris left a big branch of a copper beech in the park torn and scattered by a path, some found their way into our house. They were mere dry and brown branches of winter before going into the vases, how they transformed the kitchen into spring next morning! The corkscrew willow that joined the hedge in the front garden last year seems have survived its first winter, its contour could be part of the veins in any marble. It didn’t waste any time in bursting into green leaves either once in a vase.
