     He wanted to believe him--he really did. Adachi had always been there during the investigation, a lingering background presence that was easily overlooked. They all trusted him and, more importantly, looked to him as a source of information when they ran into a wall. But something felt off about him, something buried just underneath the surface. Yosuke couldn’t quite figure out why his alarms were going off, but he knew not to ignore them.

     “It feels like you’re suddenly more...careful? I guess...I dunno. Sorry, you’re a detective, that’s like...your job. But I mean, I guess you’re right; you do kinda have this tendency to say way too much. But I feel like it’s all just really...weird. Don’t you ever just get the feeling that something’s wrong?”

||  █ ▌— kieran is humming quietly to himself as he walks through the city. it’s... an interesting enough place, he decides, and thrumming with a strange magic all its own. though his own magic has been weakened in a way, he can still have a bit of fun with it. he’s bored, though.

the man he passes on the street seems ordinary enough, he thinks. maybe he can do something strange and alarm him in some way, so he turns around to head that way instead. with every step, a single dandelion creeps up from between the cracks in the sidewalk. he lets one grow out from the palm of his own hand, the roots clearly embedded in the skin. he holds out that hand, palm open as he approaches the man.

Girl puffs her cheeks out a little in a sulk as she stares at stranger— Ahiru doesn’t get the feeling that he’s trying to upset her on purpose ( probably? humans are weird ), but it doesn’t change the fact that he has. Well, children don’t like being treated like children usually, as it is. Even if that’s perfectly reasonable, given current circumstances. He could at least be a little nicer about it! Or maybe he’s just teasing and it’s completely gone over her head.

“I wasn’t hearin’ things— I meant what I said! I swear I heard someone talking over there...so we definitely gotta go check it out.” Granted, what passes as ‘talking’ for you probably differs than most people’s definition; so whether she’s speaking of a person or an animal remains to be seen. It doesn’t seem like she’s taking no for an answer either, tiny hands settle on doing her best to push the man forward, chipper smile has already emerged on her face. “Let’s go!”
