Copyedit time for my next YA novel, FINDING FELICITY (S&S, March 2018)! This is always one of my favorite parts in the process. The big changes are done and now we're looking at every word, every comma. And for a grammar nerd like me, that offers a solid sense of satisfaction. Well, tomorrow I do the global checks and final tweaking of comments so as to remove the overly bitchy ones. But that’s a small bit of frosting dabbed onto the cake.

I’m too tired to even feel victorious. But at least I’ll sleep well tonight.

When your editor sends back their copy edits. 💫 I have been having a lot of fear this week while waiting for the copy edits. The ego slipped in and had some fun with my true self. By fun I mean the complete opposite. The ego was shaking me up with fear and doubt as a writer. ✨ My writing journey is not glamorous, it’s a struggle from word to word. I recoil from friends and social events as part of my commitment to creativity and I question is it worth it? Then I spend time with my #writingcomunity and the doubts disappear quickly. Of coarse this creative life is worthy! Creativity chose me to work through, to share stories, to weave magic on the page. What an honour! 💫 This morning I am reading my work with fresh eyes and find myself smiling. I wrote this, I poured my heart, sweet and tears onto the page. With creativities support I finished another book and will be sharing them very soon. I may post the same picture when it comes time to hit the submit button on Amazon.
