Well, it has finally happened: someone copied one of my pieces and now is selling prints of it.

Not on here, this is not vague posting about anyone present, but I wanted to take this opportunity to say two things:

1. If you want to reference my work or use it as a jumping-off point or even do a master study, that is great. We learn from each other. I have done master studies and they are so helpful. If you post it, just credit me!

2. If you do any of those things and make a piece you love, that's fine, but if it's a direct copy, please don't sell prints of it. I am a full-time working artist. This is my entire career. It directly hurts me to do this and it's also just very uncool. In the age of AI stealing work, human artists don't need to be doing the same.

Alright i cant believe i have to go out my way to post this but here i go.

theres been this person on tumblr who has been impersonating me, spreading false rumors about me, and even stealing 40 dollar art commissions. for starters, when i had dmed them to remove their pfp because it was COMMISSION ART MY FRIEND PAID FOR, they claimed that “i had copied them” so that gives them a right to keep the profile on. mind you, theres no proof whatsoever of me copying this person. i dont even know them and just simply found their account under my ex friends post. not only alla this but they are also using my other name, “kyran.”

1st image is me confronting them and the second is proof of my friend commissioning someone for this art piece.

apparently theyre also collecting all my commission arts and even replaced the watermark on mine

again, first image is proof of them using my commission art and the next two are proof its MY art.

i genuinely dont know if they have anything else but they refuse to be mature about this and threaten to post my commission arts for NO reason.

just to make things worse, they take a deep dive into who i was in the past, and is now labelling me as a racist person who supports proshipping.

- just to debunk this, a year ago i was off my meds and was extremely careless and narcissistic. i was a problematic person who didnt care for what i said and how it would affect others, like saying the nword and making horrible “jokes,” but i have recovered and moved on from that. ive taken full accountability and responsibility multiple times and have changed so much as a person so there is NO NEED to bring my past into this. pls do not believe i am a racist anymore or believe this false propaganda. my reasoning does not fully excuse my actions but again, ive taken accountability and its best 2 move on from it.

- about the proshipping, no i do not support it but i do not care for people who do proship. proshipping does not define whether someone is a predator or not and at the end of the day its just fictional characters being shipped mostly because a lot of people are mentally ill and rely on things like that. its none of my business or concern either so i dont see why proshipping should determine how i should care for someone?

apparently me and my friends are now being blisted for all of this, which is dumb asf. the audacity to blacklist us for “harassing you” because YOU STOLEE our commission art worth 40 dollars. make it make sense.

this post will be added to more once i find out anything else. i find this extremely funny considering they haven’t even posted any actual proof or blist against me and my friends so its obvious theyre just saying shit out their ass because they cant defend themselves for being such a dumbass. this also helps me know im being stalked on discord so lol

update - i have found out much more about the situation, but id rather keep it private for now. pls dm me if you are curious, otherwise i wont be outting anything else publicly.

the “author” that plagiarized @theseinfernalangels and my own work is sweet_scarlett_angel on ao3, sweetscarlettangel on wattpad, and sweetscarlettangel on tumblr.

please do NOT support this “author.”

i cannot talk for their asoiaf or their other works, but it is very clear they plagiarized my own work and @theseinfernalangels work.

this is not a witch hunt. pls do not attack this author. i simply do not wish for them to have a platform or support on a work that is clearly, heavily plagiarized word for word on many occasions.

i debated on exposing the name, but after realizing it goes beyond me, i decided calling them out is the best course of action.

both of the original works were posted before the copied work.

both original works do have similar themes and tropes, however, both are original and do NOT copy each other word for word. that is how inspiration or similar ideas work.

that is NOT how the copied work is.

plagiarism is extremely harmful, and can make those who write not want to write.

this entire incident has made me unmotivated to continue writing not only the plagiarized work, but also my other original works.

the ideas and prose they stole are near and dear to my heart, including the passed away mother’s leathers and the emotional core behind it because my own mother passed away. the healer to rider arc is near and dear to my heart because i am a nurse and i wondered how someone who only wanted to heal was forced to become something they never thought they’d be. i wanted to explore that.

i’m not claiming rights to those emotional cores or engines, but there is a clear reason why i wrote them and blatantly copying it and simply inserting it in without the emotional core behind the why feels extremely wrong to me.

please do not support “authors” who do this. give your time, kudos, and love to the original authors.
