spoilers ahead if you haven't read dresssrosa: Same former line of work, both have adoptive kids who they sacrificed their lives for, the only characters (that I remember) who have ever said the words "I love you". They are both loving, goofy people with a tough side. Oda killed them both off before they could meet because he knew they would be too strong of a couple

They both have a marine background, found unruly children and decided to be parents. They are also arguably the best mother and father in the series on their own. Not to mention they both left the world the same way too 😭 they deserve some happiness!

Height difference, she would make fun of him all the time.

This is very much a fix-it fic ship but I think about it a lot.

Prompt #25 - Trust

“It’s not a matter of strength.”  “It’s not a matter of skill, or luck, or ability to pull a punch - it’s just a matter of trust.” Kellian explained, pacing across the floor of his home and gesturing vaguely. 

His audience was one coquettish Corabel - ‘family’ of sorts, though they weren’t related by blood. Cora was just a tolerable pain in the ass, mostly, and easy on the eyes besides. She was only half listening, her attention focused mostly on her book, though her cream-furred ears followed him across the room and back as he paced, as if they were just being polite.

“I dunno, Cora, I just don’t feel comfortable sparring with my friends.” “Mm.” Kellian drew a knuckle to his lips and bit it as he thought, too caught up in his own deliberations to notice that Corabel wasn’t fully listening. “I want to spar with them. I do. I want to help you get better, and I know Dee and Roka can look after themselves…” Cora did look up with a soft sigh, finally closing the book over a slender finger and looking up at the man she considered to be her rock. It was tough to see him so conflicted. 

“So, what?” She finally prompted. “You just don’t trust them? To fight you?”

“No, I.. Shit, I dunno. I guess it’s me. It’s a me problem.” Kellian said with a sigh.

Corabel set her book aside and opened her arms, summoning Kellian to lie down and rest his head in her lap, and she began running her manicured pink fingernails through his blue hair. “They’re all ‘you’ problems, Kou.” She reminded gently.

That drew a soft smile, and Kellian let his eyes slip closed. He would think clearer when relaxed, he knew it, and he greatly appreciated Corabel’s attempts to soothe his troubled thoughts. “I guess that is it. I just need to trust my friends. They can handle anything - anyone. Certainly me.”

“It’s hard.” Corabel agreed. “But you’re right, you should. They trust you, Kou. You know they do. You just gotta let go of some control. You are a little bit of a control freak sometimes.” Kellian scowled, reaching up to nudge Corabel’s cheek with a knuckle. “I am not a control freak.” He said with a grin, before sighing and closing his eyes once more. “You gonna fall asleep?” Cora asked. “Sure you’re okay with that, being vulnerable in another’s arms? You trust me?” She teased. “Oh, shut up. Of course I trust you.”

Hey what if Coraline doesn't defeat the other mother and Dipper, Mabel and Norman find the other place. Mabel is targeted by the other mother and she and Norman can see her but Dipper can't (he is so annoyed) and Mabel has to work with Coraline because towards the climax Norman and Dipper get trapped. Then Mabel is like 'hey Coraline when I bust you outta here, I have something important to tell you' and Coraline just nods all sad because she is dead, she can't get out, but anyways Mabel beats the other mother and. Coraline's buttons come off and she has real eyes again and Mabel is like hey you I like you a lot, and Coraline kisses her, and then she moves on. Mabel doesn't talk about her for a very long time afterwards
