Healer (the drabble thing says be specific, but I don't really see a reason to be unless you want me to. :/)
Regina was used to treating fevers; after all, she was a mother. Henry had stay home sick more than a few times, so she was accustomed to all the ins and outs of treating all the symptoms, from a stuffy nose to nausea.
What she was not used to treating, was her stubborn-as-a-mule mother and her constant refusal of care, since she was now claiming she was ‘not ill,’ despite a hundred and three degree temperature.
“Mother, it is no great crime to admit you are sick.” Regina sighed for what felt like the hundredth time. She’d been readjusting the older woman’s blankets after they’d been kicked off the bed..again, in an effort to secure Cora in her bedroom so she could rest.
Needless to say, it wasn’t working.
“But I’m not sick.” The older woman protested, in spite of her sore throat and threatening cough.
“Right. Because when you’re running a temperature as warm as Arizona, then you’re certainly not sick.”
"…what is an ‘Arizona?’"
"…never mind." Regina huffed, "Let me go get you some tea. Don’t move, alright?"
She hadn’t expected the Queen of Hearts to listen, so upon returning with a cup of Camille to find that she had was quite the pleasant surprise, and set pace for the rest of the day. The Mayor spent most of her time in her mother’s room, passing off tissues and sips of hot tea, all while coaxing her relative into spending just fifteen more minutes in bed…every fifteen minutes.
Eventually, the day passed away, and ended with Cora giving Regina the proud statement that she was, indeed, feeling better. Satisfied with that, the brunette retired to bed, proud of the fact that she’d been able to help in the cure of her mother’s ailment.
But, unfortunately, it came with the price of waking up feeling like she’d been hit by a bus and covered in a fine layer of sweat. Not that she’d admit such a feeling, though; not even to a now well-rested Cora, who sauntered into her room about an hour after her waking. Germs would be germs, but she was not giving in to them.
“…you caught it, didn’t you?” The red head asked upon entering. Regina’s eyes just narrowed and she shook her head. Cora scoffed at her in response and came to sit by her side.
"Darling, it is no great crime to admit you’re sick."
Ever her mother’s daughter and in the cycle as things would have it, Regina simply quipped:
"But I’m not sick!”
And so the process began again.
