Maxton meeting Corbin for the first time, no trigger warnings.

It’s fall, school just started up and unfortunately for you you’re 10 years old, well, you’re ten years and four months old, it’s an important distinction.

The weather is actually not as cold as your mother made you believe, the sun is shining rather warmly actually “I’m going to chuck my jacket as soon as she leaves” you think to yourself, and you do. You’re only wearing a t-shirt under the jacket but that’s okay, you’ll be running around anyways, with uhm..oh. You come to the realisation that none of your friends are actually here yet, so you go sit down on a swing, you look sort of pathetic sitting there all alone.

You’re so lost in your own little world, thinking up scenarios and what you’re going to do when you get home that you don’t even notice the black haired boy sitting down on the swing next to you, but a high pitched “hello!” Snaps you out of it.

You look over at the other boy, his eyes are orange and his hair actually reminds you a little of the feathers of a murkrow. He’s smiling widely at you and seems to be missing a tooth..do you even know him? You don’t recognise him at all.

But you respond regardless, saying hi back. He introduces himself as Corbin, he says he’s new and it’s his first day, that he and his parents just moved to Lavender town. You’re feeling a little surprised that he’s so outgoing on his first day, you know you weren’t.

You just nod along with whatever he says, he’s talking your ear off but you find that you don’t really mind all that much, he does eventually stop talking though, and asks you if you want to play pirates in the ship playground.

Yep, that’s why he’s the first person I go to when I can’t find something. I don’t mind though, he’s still my best friend! Just gotta make sure, y’know?
