If any of you Drag Race fans were still able to read by the end of Denali’s post regarding her elimination (still not over it a week later - holy crap) without your eyes being blurred with tears (I salute those who were able to do so), she said “A love letter to the world and to myself, thank you so much for everything. This is only the beginning. I love you.” 

Idk why but this was one of the purest things I’ve ever heard and it reminded me of the importance of finding the strength to write yourself a love letter, whether physically or in your mind. Like I really admire her ability to look at how far she’s come and send love to herself, something that’s really hard to do and maybe even a bit awkward since we’re not used to the level of introspection that produces genuine self love and self appreciation. Especially being able to look at yourself in that light as a queer person of color...I stan 110%. 

Her ability to show herself love makes her so soft, and I aspire to have that level of confidence and bravery to tell myself “well done, I love you.” Denali is the gift that keeps on giving, for real.
