I have to ask about Shan-anigans, just because of the name. It only narrowly beat Whumpster Dumpster, not gonna lie.
Hahaha, well, I try to use the phrase “Shan-anigans” anytime I can, really. This one’s a collab with @starknstarwars and it’s set, oh, 15 years from current day in-game. Sanna goes on a diplomatic mission, leaving Theron and a 13-ish-year-old sass-monster Reesie at home. Things go sideways for Sanna (as they’re wont to do) and Theron has to swoop in to save her.
The “Shan-anigans” come in when Reesie stows away so she can help too. :D
In the dark of her hidden compartment, Amareesa felt a soft pressure in her chest. That, combined with the familiar hum of the engine, suggested they had reached hyperspace. Carefully shifting, she silenced a groan of pain as pins and needles shot up her cramped legs. With a silent thanks to the Force that Aunt Ellie had taught her about all the little hiding places to be found in just about every spacecraft on Odessen, she tacked on an addendum that perhaps this cupboard could have been a handful of centimeters longer.
“Okay,” she whispered to herself, “now that we’re on our way, maybe I can stretch out a little bit.”
With that, she shuffled her long limbs, pressing her still-tingling toes against the top of her hidey-hole. The seat above her rose slowly, then snapped up abruptly, a heavy metallic clatter echoing through the silent shuttle. With a hissed “kriff,” Reesie shrank into herself and hoped that her father would ignore the noise.
“What the hells?” The seat above her disappeared, dashing her hopes as his face, brows furrowed in confusion, appeared in its place. “Why aren’t you with Eli’anara?”
“I told you I was going with you.” Stars, it was hard to sound like a grown-up when one was curled in a ball and hiding in the empty space under a bench.
