15 Frustrated Students Launch The Country’s First Student Debt Strike
The Corinthian 15 are students who attended for-profit institutions run by the corporation Corinthian Colleges and are refusing to pay back their loans.
The company has been investigated by the Department of Education, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and is being sued by two states for false advertising and other illegal activities.
The Corinthian 15 say that the schools did not deliver what was promised -- and so they should not have to pay back their loans for services not delivered.
Hear from Mallory Heiney, one of the Corinthian 15, and Laura Hanna with the Debt Collective.
