The fact Cork Applebees is probably like 8/9 and thus would be the absolute youngest child in the Manor. And I don't know what dynamic would be funnier, Jawbone who's never done this before or Sandra Lynn/Lydia who've done this before and frankly, thought they were free! Why are they back in carpool lanes at the elementary school and in class groupchats asking if someone else brought home Cork's jacket! Why is he so good and happy despite everything! Free my girls!

as much as sandra lynn and lydia would dread it they would absolutely fucking love it. they are both former sports moms so they are at corks little league soccer games going crazy cheering him on. sandra lynn has gotten in fights with the ref like it is so high stakes. the manor cheering section is infamous in the ELLSA (elmville little league soccer association)

neither of them were very pta types but jawbone gets into it so hard. he knows how the schools work cuz of working at aguefort so he's leading the skullcleaver pta to victory getting their programs funded. he is cooking for bakesales, selling tickets for the school raffle, he is running things cuz so help him, if cork want to try out socery, he's getting the school to hire a teacher for it.

all the other parents in the class groupchat are playing a fun game of "how in the hell does this work" in the groupchat with the amount of adults cork has. the running theory is that the three of them are a throuple (not totally wrong) but most of the parents are convinced that cork is jawbones kid.

overheard in the skullcleaver elementary pickup line, the car behind jawbones station wagon:

"i swear he's adopted! don't you remember that red haired homeschool group that used to pray in the park? he was apart of that!"

"those guys were cultist, herri, cork is so... not like that. he's sweet. lareth is pretty sure he's jawbones."

"you really think that guy is ginger under all that hair?"

anyway. i love this. love all these adults and their proclivity for taking in kids and cork being just a little dude in house full of people

Trying to be grateful that these characters the party and I care about are Not in the Forest because horrible things Would happen to them:

Gilear- Thank god they left him. He would already be permadead.

The Cubbys- they are too good for this. Glad Bud Cubby had the good sense to not sign up for this Actual Literal Nightmare.

Cathilda- I was pretty sad when she left, but she is the only functional person in that household. And more importantly: do Not let another one of Fabian's parents die in his arms

Zelda- I desperately want to see her in combat. So bad. (please Brennan). HOWEVER putting her in the forest Right After she and Gorgug said I love you for the first time and after they acknowledged and apologized for their own mistakes to start laying the foundation for a more mature relationship? One of them would die. And knowing how much Gorgug loves to stand between his allies and their enemies, it would probably be him.

Lydia Barkrock- Ragh has been through too much. Riz already chose to sacrifice her once. If someone were to make that choice for her again, which would make sense for the Bad Kids to do to save to save another party member, I don't know if Ragh would be able to, or even Should get past that.

Jawbone- Would turn full werewolf and Would bite Adaine or Sandralynn or hurt Tracker.

Kristen's brothers- literal children who would without a doubt last longer than Gilear. But Kristen deserves the kind of sibling redemption we wanted Aelwen to have for Adaine's sake. And it would hurt really bad for to see the Applebees kids fractured even more before we even get to know them.

Digby and Wilma- they are so constant, so loving, so supportive. You know the sentiment that little kids think their parents are invincible? I genuinely cannot imagine or start to process the implications of Digby or Wilma dying.

But these people aren't in the equation right now! Hallelujah!

theyve all left their parents house by now, and kristen and sadie have gone no contact. they live at mordred manor and kristen is attempting to get custody of bricker and cork
