_
It was really late, the moon shining through the window, lighting up your cosy room. You were sitting in your chair, wrapped up in a blanket, writing some paper that you were supposed to finish two days ago. Of course, you were tired as hell, your eyes almost closing by themselves, but you knew you needed to finish that stupid thing as quickly as possible. It was probably around 3a.m, making it far behind your bedtime, and there you were, working.
Suddenly, your attention was switched to the loud sound of something falling down outside your room. You knew Corpse was supposed to come home late, but fear got ahead of you. You grabbed a mug from your desk and decided to investigate.
With the dish in your hand, you slowly got out of your room and sneaked towards the door of the flat. You instantly stopped in your tracks, seeing Corpse trying to pick up a box that usually stayed up on the shelves above the hangers. You quickly realized what was happening there as you stood next to your roommate with an empty mug in your pyjamas.
- why are you not sleeping? - he asked, as he placed the box in its place. His voice was deep as usual but a bit raspier, hinting to you that he wasn’t really sleeping well - and why are you holding a mug? - a smooth chuckle escaped his lips as you put the mug silently on the table beside you both - I thought you were a burglar! - you said accusingly, pointing a finger at him. - and you thought that a mug is the best weapon? - he rose his eyebrow, sitting down and trying to slowly take off his black shoes.
You shook your head, not wanting to answer that question, knowing how funny you must have looked. As he was sitting there you looked at him, his movements so slow, blinking slowly. He was tired and you knew it. You took a big breath and looked at him as he stood up and stood in front of you. - do you want me to stay with you until you fall asleep? - you asked without hesitation, looking him in the eyes, trying to look intimidating.
He closed his eyes for a second and sighed. - alright - his voice was low, he started moving towards his room with you by his side. Slowly he opened up the door and got on his bed, you followed standing in front of him.
You were close, as close as friends can be. After all, you were living together you needed somehow to get along in one way or another, and fortunately, you did. You understood him, you saw in him the wonderful human he was, caring about helping people the most of all things, creating content for his fans, making sure his work is always perfect, doing it all for the viewers while being sick, tired and not even being able to fall asleep.
- Change into your pj’s Corpse - you said as the man in front of you layed on the bed looking at the sailing, with his eyelids opening and closing slowly. - It’s fine, I'm just gonna sleep in this - he replied, ignoring that you were very right - come on, don’t be a lazy bitch and come here - you laughed quietly at your own words, waiting for your friend to wiggle himself to the side of the bed and change. A smile appeared on your face when he grunted quietly and took another loud breath.
After a while, you layed down next to him, just looking at his face, covered by a mask. You knew that he didn’t like being without it, but you couldn’t get over the fact of how much comfortable he would be sleeping without it. You sighted thinking to yourself that you will get to it later, but doing that you got Corpse’s attention. He moved his head to look at you and hummed in question. - it’s nothing, just let me get all of this metal off of you, hmm - you said softly, seating up straight and grabbing his hand.
He looked at you, probably questioning what exactly you were doing. You smiled to yourself as you started taking big rings off of his fingers and putting them on the nightstand right beside him. When you finished, you quickly went in and softly grabbed his other hand, pulling it towards you to do the exact same. Corpse didn’t seem to pay much attention to it, simply looking at you as you did it. Quickly, you finished, looking up to meet his eyes locked on you. You blinked a couple of times, not really getting why he was staring. Getting a bit blushy you looked down, seeing the necklaces adorning his neck. Without a thought, your hands simply went up, brushing against his skin gently, fingers crawling behind his hair to find a clasp.
You couldn’t bring yourself to look up at him to check if he was still looking at you, really didn’t even need to, since you could feel his eyes on your face. Your fingers run through the metal shearing for the clasp without any result, so you readjusted a bit and got closer to his neck, immediately blushing a bit, understanding how close you two were right now.
When you finally found it in both of the necklaces, you got them next to the rings and got yourself to lay down next to him again. Looking up at him, you smiled again, focusing on the mask. - Can I please take this off of you? - you asked, looking significantly at the black cloth covering half of his face. Another soft hum escaped his lips, suggesting to you that you can in fact take that piece of material and throw it next to the jewellery. You took a big breath, closing your eyes for a second. Because of all of that, you totally forgot how tired you were. A big yawn covered by your hand showed up on your face as you realized that.
- And I am the one needing sleep, huh? - he laughed quietly at you, looking at you through the locks of his hair. You rushed to fix that, brushing your fingers through the hair that covered his face and getting it to fall on the other side. Just then, getting back to the mask.
- Shut up - You said under your nose, focusing on the task you were given (by yourself). Once again your fingers slowly brushed against the skin of his neck as they went up finding the piece of the mask behind his ear and getting it off uncovering the rest of his face.
Even after leaving with him for such a long period of time, it was still so amazing for you to see him without that black thing covering half of his face at all times. Your eyes were going from one feature to the other, not even thinking about how stupid you could be looking right now. You were admiring every piece of that stupid face of him.
Finally, you looked in his eyes, which were focused on you through all of that. - You’re so beautiful, Corpse - you whispered, smiling softly. - now come on, it’s time for you to try and sleep. - Quickly you wiggled up to lay down comfortably, opening your arms, welcoming Corpse into a warm hug.
He chuckled melodically and layed down on your chest, being swiftly embraced by your arms wrapping around him. You couldn’t stop smiling as your fingers brushed again and again through the locks of his black hair. - goodnight Corpse.
