Summary: Corpse is probably the first and only person to receive a reverse noise complaint
It hasn't been a good morning for Corpse. It's barely been a morning, if we're being honest.
He woke up after three hours of restless sleep feeling more tired than he had felt before painstakingly drifting off at the crack of dawn. He had fifteen minutes of 'morning' to spare before noon rolled around and he dragged himself to the kitchen, swinging the fridge door open to a massive disappointment. Had the scene been a cartoon, a fly would've strayed its way out of the vacant fridge. Then again, using cartoon logic, Corpse could easily draw food to fill the fridge with.
But this is real life. And in real life food costs money that Corpse is strapped for. Grocery delivery is not a privilege he can rely on any longer, hasn't been for a few months even. So every couple weeks, like clockwork, comes the dreaded day calling for a grocery run. And it always starts the same: a vacant kitchen; an attempt to convince himself he doesn't need food to survive; a grumble from his empty stomach disagreeing with him; and finally - surrender.
That's how Corpse just barely managed to usher himself out the door. His all-black attire - accessorized with a black facemask and beanie over which he's also thrown the hood of his hoodie - makes him unassuming, mysterious and unapproachable all in tandem which is precisely the 'aesthetic' he goes for every time he steps foot outside the comfort and safety of his shoebox apartment.
Good thing his kitchen decided to be barren on such a shitty day - rain is pouring down in sheets, the dark clouds are so thick that time cannot be discerned by simply looking up at the sky - it's been the same shade of dark and depressing grey since 6 AM. And Corpse loves it. He just wishes he could have appreciated it from the warmth of his dry and quiet home instead of experiencing it head-on. Not to mention that he's soaked for the most part due to his aversion to umbrellas.
By the time he makes it home with two bags of groceries hooked in each of his hands he feels like he should be wringed out like a towel. The dark curls that are sticking out from beneath his beanie are damp and stuck to his forehead, the mask on his face is soaked and almost impossible to breathe through to the point where he finally bites the bullet and drags it down to beneath his chin. His shoes have a colony of fish living in each one and his groceries are swimming in their bags. But despite the massive inconvenience, his relief to finally be done with the task isn't dampened (pun semi-intended).
However, he's in for a mild infuriation when he approaches his apartment door, keys in hand, and sees a note stuck to the dark wood, the paper ominously contrasting against it.
For a moment, he believes the worst of it - an eviction notice. Is there a valid reason for him to be getting evicted? Absolutely not. Is the landlord and ass though? Absolutely, and Corpse knows the dude is no stranger to the distaste he harbors for him.
He's just about to completely ignore the note for the time being and push into the apartment in favor of drying off and organizing his groceries but an interesting detail jumps out at him from the white page as he goes to unlock the door.
The note is written in cursive in a glittery purple gel pen. Not really the font or format of an eviction notice or complaint, is it?
Corpse pushes the door open, setting the bags down in the foyer before stepping back out to retrieve the piece of paper and read it with far more curiosity than dread this time.
To his surprise and amusement, the note reads:
~ Dear neighbor,
You don't know me and I don't know you. But that's irrelevant. I just know you have an amazing taste in music and whatever it is you're blaring in the middle of the night, I'd like you to play it louder so I can at least Shazam it because holy shit do I love it!
Keep up the great DJing, neighbor!
PS: Sorry if the letter caused mild discomfort upon first sight. No complaints here! :) I hope the purple ink translated that ~
The relief that washes over him after the third time re-reading the note feels almost like a physical weight being removed from atop his chest and he can finally get his breathing in order. Which then turns into laughter, wholehearted cackling that has him leaning against the hallway wall, groceries all but momentarily forgotten by his feet.
Later that day, in the evening, he does indeed blast the music he typically listens to as motivation and inspiration for his own discography. Despite the blaring speakers, he still manages to hear the three distinct knocks on the wall connecting him to the next unit over. It brings a genuine smile to his face, knowing exactly what it means.
The roundabout way of their communication brings him great comfort. It makes him feel far less alone, the loneliness punctured by the knowledge that there is someone right next door who he managed to make smile if only even briefly.
Thing is, Corpse doesn't want it to end. He realizes that when he finds himself peeking out into the hallway of his building so he can check the other side of his front door for the potential new letter from his neighbor. The realization only sinks in further when he feels the flood of disappointment engulf him upon the sight of the letter-less door.
So, that seals the deal for him. He decides to take it upon himself to not let it end.
It takes him a long time to locate something to write on that isn't a napkin or a paper towel. Even longer to find a working pen. But once he does, he sits down at his computer desk to write a note of his own.
~ Dear Neighbor,
Hope you enjoyed the concert last night. Not my typical style to blast music but how can I say no to the Neighborhood Watch. But hey, I don't mind whatsoever - it's the closest thing to a party I've had in years.
Seeing as how we seem to share the same preference for music, here's a link to a curated playlist I've been adding to for almost a decade now. There's plenty of hidden gems in there I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Feel free to be the one to blast the tunes this time
Greetings from next-door ~
He can't help but laugh to himself as he writes down the whole URL to his Spotify playlist, but even the ridiculousness of that doesn't seem to deter him from his mission.
The next morning, during a teetering predicament of standing on a stool trying to change the lightbulb in the hallway, Corpse hears a laugh echo out in the hallway right beside the door to his unit.
He hops down and takes a look outside the peephole to see what's going on and sure enough, it's his neighbor, having found the note he'd left taped to their door the night before.
He feels a genuine smile spread across his face, a certain warmth flooding his chest. He can still hardly believe he went out of his way to establish communication with a total stranger - something so out of his comfort zone it might as well be in the stratosphere - but that laugh makes it all so worth it.
And there indeed is a party that night as well, with songs he knows all too well blaring from the other side of the wall, loud enough to shake the building. And man, does he love it.
He'd never thought he'd come to think this one day, but he never wants to not have a party (like this one anyway) again.

Words:200
Today was one of the few times you woke up before Corpse, usually he'd be up all night if you didn't force him to go to bed. It was never easy but waking up with him in your arms was worth it,he was laying on top of you,his face buried in your neck and his breath ticking your skin. You wrapped one arm around him, running the other through his hair. You were gonna wait to wake him up but soon felt his lips on your neck, trailing kisses up to your jawline and cheek.Â
"Did you sleep well?" You asked, still running your hand through his hair.Â
"Yeah, thanks to you" He wrapped his arms around you, putting one of his legs around yours,so you wouldn't be able to get up. He did this a lot when he didn't want you to leave just yet.Â
"If you wanted more cuddles you could've just asked, you don't have to trap me" You laughed, pulling him closer to. "I'm not leaving you,we can stay here as long as you want"Â
"I love you" He whispered so quickly you barely heard him,you whispered back.Â

You knocked on his door and almost within seconds he was right in front of you with his eyes turning into half moons and his arms wide open making you just fall into them. He couldnât hear it at first. His headset was on and everyone was being so loud on the discord call. When he started the stream, he really thought it was gonna be a long one. But heâs only two hours in and heâs ready to get the hell off because something was definitely wrong.
âCorpse?â His name being spoken finally broke him out of his trance, he only hummed in response. âYouâve been really quiet. Are you sure youâre up for another game?â
âActually,â he starts as he closes a few tabs, âI think Iâve gotta go. Today was fun, though. Thanks for having me guys.â
After a chorus of âgoodbyeâs and âsee you laterâs, Corpse disconnected from the discord call. âThank you guys for being here,â he addressed the chat, âsorry Iâm ending so early today. I promise Iâll make it up to you next time. Take care of yourselves. Later.â
After hanging up his headset and getting out of the chair heâs been sitting in for far too long, Corpse made the short trek to your room.Â
You had only been roommates for less than four months, but Corpse could confidently say that you have become one of his closest friends. Getting a roommate was the last resort that he never wanted to actually resort to. But alas, medical bills were piling up and youtube and music donât make half as much money as people think they do. So cutting rent in half was the best plan he could come up with. He did have an extra guest room that no one ever stayed in. Of course having someone move into his personal space was terrifying to him. He didnât just want to post an ad on craigslist or something. So he asked a couple trusted friends to ask a couple trusted friends⊠And thatâs when you came in.
You were the trusted friend of a trusted friend of a trusted friend. When you met, you didnât make a comment about his voice. Your face sure as hell showed your surprise but you didnât say anything. To Corpse, this meant one of two things. You either knew who he was but didnât want to freak him out, or you didnât know about his online persona and were just genuinely shocked by his voice. It only took a few minutes of knowing you to know that it was the latter. Thank god. You were like anyone your age with social media. You had a few accounts, followed a few people, but mostly used it to stay in contact with friends.Â
It only took you guys a week to realize you had way too much in common. After many a late night when he wasnât streaming, and many an early morning when he was just done streaming, you two became inseparable. Nothing could keep you apart.
Except for one thing.
You had a boyfriend.
There was nothing wrong with your boyfriend, per se. Just the fact that he was your boyfriend and Corpse was not.Â
Yeah, Corpse definitely had feelings for you.Â
But right now, feelings didnât matter when he could hear tavern music coming from your room.
He knocked lightly and pushed the door open slowly. ây/n? Can I come in?â
No response came, just sniffles and sobs. The lack of refusal on your part gave him the courage he needed to open the door wider and step into your room. He had only been in your room a couple of times since you had moved in. But he had never been in a room that gave off the feeling of a person so well.
You were curled up on your bed, facing your open laptop screen and the tavern music coming from its speakers. With every sob shaking your chest, Corpse felt his heart break. ây/n,â he murmured softly, âwhatâs wrong?â
âItâs not working.â Came your reply, heavy with tears. âYou said it would make you feel like you're going on an adventure but I still feel like crap.â
âWhat happened?â Corpse asked as he sat down on your bed, facing you. You slowly sat up and crossed your legs at your ankles in front of you.
âHe-â You sighed heavily. âHe cheated on me.â
âWhat?â
âHe cheated on me -has been cheating on me- with my best friend. My little brother found out.â You groaned and dramatically dropped your head onto Corpseâs thigh. His hand immediately came in contact with your cheek as he brushed a few stray tears away.
There was rarely any physical contact between you and Corpse. Sometimes youâd give him a high five, sometimes heâd give you fist bump. And there was that one time you came up behind him at the grocery store and hugged his arm to your chest. You immediately whispered something along the lines of âcreep wonât leave me aloneâ followed by a loud âhey babe!â
Corpse could barely admit to himself how much he liked that.
But this? This felt good. Corpseâs large warm hand on your face somehow made you want to cry more but in a good way. The tenderness with which he held your face made your heart squeeze as it remembered moments like this with your boyf- ex boyfriend. But then it remembered your brotherâs words.
âHey, whatâs up?â You spoke as you answered his call. Your brother wasnât much of a caller, so it made you worry.Â
âHey, where are you right now?â
âIâm home, why?â
ây/n⊠Thereâs something I gotta tell you.â He sighed and you could clearly hear the guilt.
âDid you break my DS!â It was your first thought as you had given it to him the last time you had seen him. âDude! Iâve had that since I was seven!â
âNo no, I called about something else.â He cut you off mid-whine. âBut also I did lose the pen.â You huffed out a sigh of frustration but stayed silent so he could tell you what he wanted to tell you. âI saw your boyfriend at the park today.â
You furrowed your eyebrows. âAnd?â How did this warrant a phone call?Â
âHe was with Bob.âÂ
When you had met your best friend, your brother was only a toddler. He had decided that her name was Bob, so it stuck. You always called her Bob, she was saved as Bob in your phone, your whole family called her Bob. But you still didn't understand. Why was he calling you to tell you that your boyfriend and your best friend were at the park?Â
âWhy are you calling me about this? You know that theyâre friends, right?â You let out a chuckle, albeit still pretty confused. âTheyâre allowed to hang out without me.âÂ
âThey werenât hanging out.â You could hear your brother push out a strained sigh. What wasnât he telling you? âThey were making out on the swing set. As in, both of them on one swing. And I double checked, it was definitely them. I-I told mom and she said not to tell you, but I couldnât not tell you when Iâm the one who saw it!â
You couldnât bring yourself to say a word.
âIâm sorry, y/n.â
There was no lying to yourself, you had doubts about your best friend and your boyfriend. But you constantly brushed it off. He wouldnât hurt you like that. Hell, she couldnât hurt like that. Not after everything you had been through together.Â
But you had seen his call log by accident one time, he called her more than he did you. She face-timed him one time to ask his opinion about a dress she was going to buy while you were in the changing room. She had done a handful of things since your relationship with your boyfriend started that made you uneasy. If this was their first kiss, which was something you doubted, then theyâve both been emotionally attached to the other for far too long.
All those tender intimate moments, all those dates, throughout everything, he wasnât faithful. Not emotionally, at least. None of those moments that you cherished meant anything to you anymore. He had played you. With none other than your best friend since middle school. You didnât know who to be more mad at.
The thoughts of betrayal from someone who you considered a sister and the hurt of being cheated on made you nauseated.
So when the large warm hand on your face stroked your cheek again, you didnât mind it. This was Corpse. Not your cheating boyfriend. Not your lying best friend. Corpse. And you knew that he would never hurt you.
âHeâs been cheating on me for a while I think.â You mumbled against his sweatpants. âMaybe a couple months. I donât know.âÂ
Corpse furrowed his brows in thought. You had told him you were going to visit your boyfriend for your one year anniversary next week. âWerenât you go-â
âYeah.â
âAnd Bobâs been your friend since-â
âYeah.â Your chin wobbled as you answered. You brought your arms up around Corpseâs thigh and hugged it. It was a strange position, but you didnât care. He was so warm and nice and hugging him properly required more movement on your end than you were willing to do.
âOh, sweetheart.â Corpse sighed and reached out to untangle your arms from his leg. He gently pulled you across the few inches of bed between you and sat you in his lap. You wrapped your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist, immediately sobbing into his shoulder. âDo you want me to turn off the music?â You shook your head no against him and he chuckled before he solemnly sighed. âWhen did you find out?âÂ
âWhen I came home.â
âBut you came home hours ago. Have you been in here this whole time?â You nodded. âWhy didnât you tell me?â
âYou were streaming, didnât wanna interrupt.â You shrugged.
ây/n,â he sighed disappointedly, âyouâre my best friend. I can end a stream if you need me.â
âOkay.â Your voice, broken and weak and tired, made him feel so guilty. You had been crying your heart out for over two hours just down the hall from where he was.
He gently grabbed you by your hips and tried to push you away, but you only held on tighter and whimpered. âI just wanna get you some water.â
âCan I slap her for you?â - Corpse Husband | Part One
Title: âCan I slap her for you?â â Part One
Pairing: Corpse Husband x Reader
Summary: Being stuck living with the queen of YouTube drama and partying during the pandemic has seriously worn down your patience. Meeting Pokimane has changed your life for the better, making Among Us a pivotal part of your life.
Word Count: 5.3k
Iâm always writing so much plot! I hope you like it. Part Two is in the works.
********
Credit to PIC owner!
This pandemic was hell for you. Being stuck in this apartment with your bitch of a sister was not something you would wish on even your enemy.
When you first moved to LA with her, things were fine, and you got along. She had a budding YouTube career, and you were working a good job. Pretty quickly, sheâd hired you as her editor since that was a daily part of your real job, you happily agreed because it meant you could get money on the side and still work.
Your sister was mainly a beauty YouTuber but last year she gained over 3 million followers when she started a series where she would interview people in other lines of entertainment and then test it out. Since then, sheâd become a horror to live with.
Now with the pandemic, youâd been furloughed from you day job and working full time for your diva of a sister. She had only been getting worse and worse. Being stuck with her was crap, especially since she was selfish and still went out to party and do collabs with people like there wasnât a massive virus out there.
âI hope you finished the editing I needed done.â Olivia, your sister, asked as she shut the front door.
You were just finishing up the edits from your spot on the couch. âYeah, I did it while you were out risking lives.â
âShut the hell up. Iâm an adult and I can do what I want.â She flipped her blonde hair over her shoulder.
âEven when itâs killing hundreds of thousands of people?â You were so sick of her attitude. She has no care in the world for anyone but herself. In the last month, her name had been posted all over the commentary YouTubers channels. Slamming her for partying while the world dealt with Covid.
Olivia rolled her eyes. âThose people are not my problem at all. If they are so afraid, they should just stay home.â
âWhy are you so selfish?â Her behavior was completely out of hands these days.
âDo I need to remind you that I pay you?â She sent you a glare before heading off to her room. You grumbled and threw your head back. There was no way you could handle her.
Stressing out over her was no good, so you decided to take your laptop back to your room and play some games to calm yourself down. Among Us was one of those games that allowed to you just play and forget the stress. You booted up the game and joined some random lobbies. It was hard to find good games because you usually ran into some sour players who couldnât just play the game without causing drama.
A few rounds in, your phone buzzed, indicating a text. You exited the current game, one of the imposters had already killed you anyway, and picked up the phone. There was a text from Poki. The two of you had become quick friends when she appeared on your sisters series but she clicked more with you since you were more of a gamer.
P: Hey Y/n, what are you doing currently?
It was an unexpected text because you had been fairly sure Poki had a stream tonight.
Y/n: Nothing since I just finished editing my selfish sisters video. Whatâs up?
She knew very well how horrible Olivia was and sheâd been the one person who you could talk to about it. You appreciated her for it.
Poki: Damn, did she go to another party?
Y/n: Yup, she sure did. Then threatened my job when I called her out on it.
Poki: Wow, not cool. Hey, so you know how Iâm streaming tonight?
Y/n: Yeah.
Poki: So I had everyone set up for the game but last minute someone dropped out. We need one more person and I know youâre amazing in Among Us. Would you join our game?
This was a surprise. You werenât a YouTuber or a streamer, so for her to ask you, meant she really was desperate.
Y/n: Sure, Iâm free. Whoâs playing tonight?
Poki: Rae, Lily, Ethan, Mark, Felix, Toast, Sykkuno, and Corpse.
Wow, that was a packed game full of some pretty big names. Your nerves kicked up at the thought of being in a game with these amazing people.
Y/n: Sweet!
Poki: I will send you the discord so you can join the chat and the game code.
Y/n: Thanks.
She instantly sent you the links and you got your self set up with your headphones. Poki connected you into the discord call.
âHey, everyone welcome my good friend, Y/n. Sheâs the one who will fill in on the open spot tonight.â She introduced you to the group.
A chorus of helloâs was heard. You knew Rae, so she jumped right into welcoming you.
Pushing the nerves away, you managed to little hello. Your voice was softer than youâd intended. Damn nerves.
âGuys! Y/n is so good in Among Us. Her skills rival Corpseâs.â Rae gushed. Youâd played a game with Rae and Poki and a few of the other girls, but no one had been streaming.
âWhaddup baby.â The deep voice of Corpse said. His voice was something else.
âDonât make her too nervous there, man.â Felix commented which made the other guys laugh.
âOh no worries, Iâm not nervous.â You said even though you really were nervous. You switched into the game and typed in the code Poki had sent you. Immediately the game lobby popped up, filled with everyone who was on the call. Your character popped onto the screen and took the white color.
âGood to know. I look forward to being an imposter with you.â Corpse said making your cheeks heat up just a little.
âYou really need to watch out for her.â Lily said making you giggle. She was right. You were a deceitful imposter.
You quickly changed your hat to the halo, making you match your chosen username, Angel.
âLook how fitting her character is.â Mark commented. âIs that an indication of how you will be?â
âPerhaps.â You were starting to calm your nerves. âYou will just have to find out.â
âOkay, letâs get started.â Poki said as the countdown started on screen. You muted your mic. The screen flashed the crew-mate title, and you felt a little more relieved. You hated starting as an imposter.
The map you were in was Polus, your favorite. The first thing you did, was the navigation task before also doing keys. Nearly everyone was there, which meant the two imposters were faking the tasks. After that, you ran off entering the building that housed electrical and o2. You looked around for tasks.
âI have my eye on you, Angel.â Felix said as he came into o2.
You unmuted your mic. âGood, then you can watch me teach you how to do tasks.â You sassed, making the group laugh.
âDamn, I already like her.â Ethan said, getting sounds of approval from Sykkuno, Mark, and Corpse.
âStop simping and play the game.â Poki commented, making you laugh.
Leaving o2, you ran outside to check the weather nodes. Felix was still following you closely. He was convinced you were an Imposter.
âWhy is this guy following me around?â You asked, trying to run from him.
âFelix, what are you doing?â Rae asked as she popped up beside you.
âMaking sure sheâs not an imposter.â He sounded innocent.
âWell Iâm not. Now go do your tasks.â Once again you ran from his character and entered the office. You passed Corpseâs black character before heading in, to do card swipe.
Suddenly a body was reported. Felixâs body.
âWhoa, okay, Y/n did you kill Felix?â Toast asked.
âWhat? No? I left him to go do my tasks.â You defended.
âI can confirm she was in office with me. I watched her do card swipe.â Corpse added.
The thing was, you passed him as he was leaving the office, and he definitely didnât stay to watch you. He was headed in the direction you had left Felix and Rae. So, both were sus.
âOkay, then Rae where were you?â Sykkuno questioned.
âI left Felix by weapons. I was headed to lab.â You couldnât decipher a lie from her.
âHmmm, okay. Skip then?â Ethan offered. The group agreed.
Once back in the game, you decided to head to labs to find the rest of your tasks. Sykkuno followed you but broke off to go through decontamination. You did your scan in peace before another body was reported. This time it had been both Mark and Lily.
âAny sus?â Ethan asked.
âNo, I was in electrical.â Toast said.
âI went to o2.â Poki added.
âY/n, where were you?â Toast questioned. You were sure he thought you were an imposter.
âI was in the lab doing my scan, which I never got to finish.â You hated being interrupted mid-task.
âAnyone see her go there?â
âI passed her while I headed to decontamination.â Sykkuno vouched for you.
âSure but the body was right outside the lab. She could have gone back to kill Mark after you were gone.â
âBut I didnât. I was doing my task.â You repeated with a little smile. You loved this game.
âSure. I donât believe you.â Toast was a hard one to convince.
âShe didnât do it. I entered lab and she was doing her scan.â Corpse spoke up. Again he was covering for you when you know he was not in Lab with you.
âOkay. I guess we skip?â Poki said. Everyone agreed but when it was done, you had two votes but three had skipped, so you had been spared luckily. Toast for sure voted for you, you had no clue who else did but it didnât matter.
Back in the game, you headed back to lab to finish your scan. Once done, you headed to decontamination, then to the specimen room for a task. As you entered, you found Corpse.
âHey Corpse, having fun with your tasks?â You asked as you went to your own task.
âI sure am.â He stated before his character was running out of the room and up to the lab. Once your task was done, you had finished all your tasks and headed back to Admin. You entered office to find a dead Sykkuno, so you hit report.
âThat was for sure a self-report.â Toast quickly said.
âIt wasnât, but okay.â You said shaking your head. Toast was so sus on you all game.
âIâm sus of Toast.â Rae said while Corpse and Poki agreed with her.
âWait, Ethan is dead too. Damn, these Imposters got around.â Toast commented. âBy the way, I am not an Imposter. Y/n is.â
âSheâs not. I have seen her do her tasks all game.â Corpse was quick to come to your rescue. It was sweet how he was vouching for you all game.
âSure, Iâm voting Y/n.â Toast said as his âI Votedâ badge popped up.
You decided you were going to vote off Toast because he was getting on your nerves. Apparently the others were feeling the same because everyone else voted off Toast as well. His character was launched into the Lava. Toast was NOT an Imposter.
Back in the game, you ran around, just seeing if you could spot anyone being sus before Poki was killed. Straight after the defeat title showed, and the Imposters were revealed to be none other than Rae and Corpse.
Everyone dropped back into the lobby.
âI told you I wasnât an Imposter.â You boasted.
âSorry Y/n, I should have believed you.â Toast said.
âNo worries. But hey, Corpse and Rae had plenty of chances to kill me, but they didnât. Why?â It was interesting to you.
Rae laughed. âI didnât want to kill you right in the beginning of your first game with us. You deserved to have some fun before you got killed.â
âWell thank you.â It was sweet of Rae to do that.
âI didnât want to kill an Angel. It wouldnât be right.â Corpse stated with a cute laugh afterwards.
Felix groaned. âBut you have no issue killing anyone else.â
âIt be like that sometimes.â Ethan stated which had you in stitches, as well as the rest of the group. âOkay, letâs begin another round.â He added.
The next few games were fun and interesting. You were always a crew member, but someone was always sus on you. But no matter what, Corpse would vouch for you. Sometimes his character would follow you around, do tasks with you. It was pretty freaking cute and clear to see the man with the alluring deep voice had taken a liking to you. It was sweet.
âOne more game?â Poki asked after a slew of other games. Everyone agreed. She started the game and after the countdown, the screen flashed that you were finally an Imposter. Your fellow Imposter was of course Corpse. It was only natural.
You and he teamed up and killed many of the others. Starting with Rae and Lily, moving onto Toast and Sykkuno. Then someone finally reported the bodies.
âFour bodies already?â Mark stated as the red xâs showed up on their icons.
âDamn, someone is having fun.â You said, pretending like it wasnât you who had done half of the killing.
âI saw Poki headed into Electrical where Lily and Rae were.â Corpse said, sounding genuine as always. He was so good at Imposter. His ability to lie was excellent.
âSure I went to Electrical, but I left after fixing the lights.â Poki said.
âI donât know. You seem sus.â Ethan said. âI saw you enter lab, and after I saw Sykunnoâs body right before someone reported Lily and Raeâs.â
âI swear, itâs not me. I was just doing my tasks. How could I kill four people in that short amount of time?â
âItâs possible. You could have vented.â Corpse was right too.
âGuys, please.â She pleaded as everyone put in their votes. Nearly everyone had voted for Poki and her character was launched into the lava, only to show she was not an Imposter.
âSorry Poki.â Ethan said before everyone hopped back into the game.
Once again, you and Corpse were teamed up, but you saw Mark head one way while Ethan was going another. Almost silently, the two of you decided to split up and take them. You followed Mark into O2, trailing him into the tree. No one was around, so you killed him before quickly venting away from there. Making sure no one was around when you resurfaced. Corpse must have killed Ethan because the Victory screen popped up for the two of you.
âDamn, I should have known this was a team effort between Corpse and the Angel. Youâre far from an Angel when youâre an imposter.â Mark complained.
âThatâs part of the thrill.â It really was. You loved being able to shock people that way.
âGood job, partner. Youâre a great Imposter like me. We need to team up more often.â Corpseâs words made you feel all warm. It was insanely fun being Imposter with him. Your combined skills made things that much better.
âOkay, I think itâs time to call it a night. Thank you so much for joining us, Y/n.â Poki yawned to show it was getting late.
âOf course. I loved playing with all of you. It was much better than playing with randoms.â
âI get that. Randoms can be very annoying.â Sykkuno agreed. âIt was so good to meet you, Y/n. I hope you join more games so I can be an Imposter with you!â
You loved how excited he sounded. âI guess we all want a chance to be Imposter with her.â Felix stated what everyone else was thinking.
âHey, no one steals my Imposter buddy.â Corpse spoke up, which once again had you feeling some kind of good way.
âCorpse, youâre being such a simp.â Rae laughed, which made everyone else go nuts.
You all bid your goodbyes before you exited the game and the discord call. You found there was a huge smile on your face after that fun you had just had with Poki and her friends. They were all super welcoming of you, despite not knowing a thing about you.
Poki: Thank you for playing with us. I hope you had fun! You didnât mind being on my stream?
Y/n: I had so much fun, everyone was so good to me. Also, not at all!
Poki: Good because my chat loved you! They couldnât stop gushing about how much they loved you. It was so cute.
This was not something you had expected. Her stream had never met you, so for them to like you playing a game with the group, that was nice.
Y/n: Oh wow, I wasnât expecting that. Thatâs so sweet!
Poki: You also seemed to get Corpse simping for you. Sykkuno is super jealous.
You laughed when you read that.
Y/n: Sykkuno doesnât have to be jealous. It was a one-time thing, and he can have Corpse back in the next game.
Sure, you wanted it to be more than a one-time thing, but you werenât going to let your hopes get too high. Poki had many streamer friends, who would get their streams way more viewers than you ever could.
Poki: I wouldnât count on that. Weâre definitely going to use you for more games. Youâre one of us now, even if you donât stream.
Her words warmed your heard. Poki had been one of the very few people you had made friends with when you moved to Cali with your sister and your friendship was only 10 months old. It was nice to have someone who wanted to include you in on the things she was doing.
Y/n: Are you sure? Because I would hate to be taking someone more interestingâs spot.
Poki: You shut that mouth. The group loved you and weâre all looking forward to playing with you again.
Y/n: Okay if thatâs what they want.
Poki: They do, now get some sleep. I know youâve been overworking yourself for your sister.
Y/n: You would be right. Thank you for the fun night, Poki. You get some sleep as well.
Poki: đ
You liked her message before deciding it was indeed time for bed. Editing those videos did take energy out of you, especially since your sister would review and have you re-edit the things she didnât like. Not fun at all.
****
The next month passed by with Poki inviting you to more games with her and her friends. Most of those games included Corpse, whoâd taken a liking to you. The last few games, heâd been bugging you to tell him who you were and how you met Poki, but you were keeping that a secret. You really didnât want him or the others knowing you were the older sister of selfish party girl Olivia Bella.
Your sister had found out youâd been playing the game with Poki and her friends and decided she was going to say some shit.
âHow did you get Poki to let you play with her and the other streamers?â Olivia said with clear distaste towards you.
You shrugged. âShe just asked me to step in for someone one day and now they enjoy playing with me.â
She laughed obnoxiously. âThat such a joke. I needed that laugh, thank you.â
You clenched your fists, trying to contain your anger against your sister. She was really grating on your nerves these days.
âDamn, I would do anything to play with Corpse. His voice is so hot.â She muttered looking deranged.
âHeâs much more than his voice you know.â
She rolled her eyes. âHeâs whatever I want him to be. God, I bet heâs so sexy behind that screen.â
âPlease stop, heâs my friend and talk like that is uncomfortable.â
She cackled. âCorpse is not your friend, you loser. He just tolerates you like the rest of that group. I bet Poki only asked you to join out of pity.â
Her words slapped you in the face and threatened to strangle you. It was unbelievable that your younger sister was really acting like this to you.
âWhy are you like this to me?â You questioned in all seriousness.
âBecause you annoy me. Isnât it obvious. I meant if I had the money, I would have moved here without you. Living with you is the worst. You know youâre like the most boring person in the world?â
The insults just kept on coming. She truly didnât like you and it felt horrible. Family wasnât supposed to be like this. âI get it, thank you.â You walked away before she could say anything else, she was horrible to you.
Her words made you sad. The only thing that could cheer you up was the fact that Poki had invited you to another game. It was something you needed after that conversation with your sister.
Poki: Hey girl, this kills me to do but Sean invited someone else to play tonight. Someone he said was eager to play with us. Iâm so sorry.
This was simply perfect. The one time you craved interaction with the Among Us crew, they added someone else to the game. Of course it was always a possibility, but it didnât stop from making you upset.
A couple of tears streamed down your face before you wiped them away. You wouldnât let this get to you.
Y/n: No, please donât worry. I understand it is always a possibility. Have a good stream!
Poki: I think you should know the person joining us is your sister. I tried to tell them it was a bad idea, but they didnât really believe me. Iâm so sorry.
Your sister was the reason you have been replaced for tonight. Perfect. Of course it was her. She always took the things you liked, away from you.
Y/n: Please stop apologizing, I completely understand.
Poki: Should I tell them sheâs your sister?
Y/n: No, please donât let them know that.
Poki: Okay, please know we will miss you in tonights stream.
Doubt filled you. After reading those words. There was no way they would miss you in the game tonight. It was clear you didnât bring in viewers for the streams, but your sister would be able to do that without any issues. Now your night was truly ruined. Thankfully, you could just lay in bed and sulk all you wanted.
The bedroom door burst open. âHey, can you set up this game for me? I assume you know Iâm playing Among Us with the crew tonight. Told you they didnât care if you were there or not.â Did she ever stop this shit?
âWhy should I help you?â You grumbled, glaring up at your blonde-haired sister. She looked like she was dressed for another party, not an off the cuff stream.
âWell, I pay you and if you want that to continue, you will help me set up the game and stream.â Her hanging your only source of income over your head was really shitty.
You growled but got out of bed, passing by her in a haste. You entered her office and quickly got to work setting up the stream and discord. Then you showed her how to load the game. She just nodded, not looking happy at all.
âHave fun.â You sounded bitter but at this point, you couldnât hide it.
âOh Iâm going to have so much fun with them. Itâs going to be so good, and maybe they will ask me to join them more often and they can stop faking their friendships with you.â
âCool, good for you.â The audacity of this bitch. You left once you were sure it was set up correctly. She didnât see, but you shot her the finger as you left. She was a bitch through and through.
You retreated to your room to sulk some more. This day was such a let down for you. Over the last month, you had really clicked with the Among Us group. Meeting more streamers as Poki had more games. They all seemed to like you, but your sister was probably right, they were just being nice because they could.
As you stared at your ceiling, you heard your sister talking and knew the stream had started. Groaning, you threw on some headphones and put on your playlist that was saved strictly for when you were sad. It helped to take your thoughts from the stressor at hand? And ease your mind.

Meanwhile, the stream was hell. Sean majorly regretted inviting Olivia onto it. To be fair, he was only being nice because the girl had been begging to join the game for a while now in his DMâs. But it was a huge regret with the way this woman was acting. She couldnât even be Imposter without outing herself and the second Imposter.
âYou guys know Y/n is my sister right?â She said offhandedly as they were waiting in the lobby for the next game.
âWait what? Is that true?â Ludwig asked in disbelief. This woman was nothing like Y/n. She was a total ditz compared to Y/n.
âOf course it is. I have lived with her for twenty years now, I know a lot of dirt about her.â Hearing her say this angered Poki.
âDonât go there, Olivia. Just play the game.â Poki didnât want her to spill anything about her friend. It was messy that she would even want to.
Olivia sighed. âAwe but you would love this.â
âNo, letâs just play the game.â Corpse was quick to cut her off.
âCome on Corpse, are you sure you donât want to hear all the embarrassing things I know about her?â Everyone was quickly realizing just how messed up in the brain Olivia was.
âYou do realize most of us are streaming this live?â Rae stated, sounding just as frustrated as Corpse felt.
âPlease, letâs start the game.â He all but growled, wanting to shut this woman up. The game started and he pulled out his phone. He was going to finally get Poki to tell him Y/nâs instagram.
Corpse: I know you told me you couldnât tell me what Y/nâs instagram is but please, can I get it now? Her sister is a fucking bitch.
He has so much more he wanted to say about Olivia and entitled attitude but making sure Y/n was okay was his number one priority.
Poki: Sheâs going to hate me if I do it.
Corpse: Please, this is important to me.
Poki: You owe me. Hereâs her insta.
She sent him a link that led to a private instagram under the name Y/nY/l/n96. He requested to follow her.
Corpse: Thank you, let me know when to pay up.
Poki: Will do, now get into the game or Olivia is going to kill you. Sheâs imposter.
He got back into the game, hoping Y/n would accept his request.
****
After an hour of âsad girl hoursâ. You decided to do something that could help you not to focus on Olivia streaming in the other room.
Clicking instagram, you saw a notification. corpse_husband has requested to follow you. This was interesting. Either heâs smart enough to figure out who you are or Poki told him.
You accepted his follow and followed him back. He only had seven pictures, and of course there werenât face pics. You admired him for keeping himself faceless to his fans. Now you hoped he wouldnât bend to their pressure and reveal his face. Being faceless was good for him and his anxiety. The latest pics were his hand reveals he did for the fans, they made you giggle.
Corpse was good at keeping himself secret and you liked that. You did what you could to stay secret as well. Your Instagram profile picture was not even you, so no one would be able to point you out even if they knew your face. Also, you have hidden the account from Olivia, so she couldnât send her fans to torment you.
As you scrolled Instagram, you received a DM. It was from the one and only Corpse Husband.
Corpse: This stream is hell without you tonight. Why did Sean have to invite her?
It made you feel a little better to see that Corpse was missing you in the stream tonight.
Y/n: Thatâs a question you will have to ask Sean. I was looking forward to playing Among Us with the group as well, but hey, it looks like they found someone who will bring in the views.
Corpse: Nope. Sheâs chasing away everyoneâs viewers. Your sister is the worst. I see why you didnât want us to know the two of you were related.
Your blood ran cold. How did he know that?
Y/n: How did you know she was my sister?
Corpse: She wonât shut up about it. No one can get her to stop. Iâm sorry if you didnât want us to know about this.
Of course, you should have known that Olivia was going to tell everyone that. She was also probably opening her mouth about so much other stuff.
Y/n: Well fuck. This sucks.
Corpse: Hey, donât worry about it. No one is judging you for this, but we are wondering how you manage to handle her.
A soft giggle left your mouth.
Y/n: Itâs not easy. I mean sure Iâm the older sister, but she acts like the queen around here.
Corpse: Damn. Here we go again. Your sister is trying to start some drama.
Hearing this, you realized you had to do something about this. There was no way you could let her sit there and continue to mouth off about you or anyone else in her life.
Y/n: Brace yourself, Iâm about to ruin her stream.
Corpse: Good luck!
It was time to put her in her place, you got up and headed to the utility closet by the front door of the apartment. The fuse box was located there. You opened it and found the switch for her office and clicked it off. It was half a second before a loud scream was heard.
In less than thirty seconds she was running out of the office with a livid look upon her face. âWhat the fuck have you done?â She screamed while stomping up to you.
âI heard you were talking shit about me and decided to end it.â You crossed your arms in front of your chest.
âI can say whatever I want. The group was enjoying it.â She tried to act smug.
You laughed in her face. âDo you ever not lie?â
âDo you ever stop being a bitter bitch?â The anger was clear, but you didnât care.
âOh fuck off. You were annoying them with your ridiculous bullshit. I completely saved your ass from making a fool of yourself.â
âI fucking hate you!â She stepped up to you. âIâm kicking you out. Pack your shit and get the fuck out of my apartment.â The look on her face, showed she was serious about this.
âFine.â Was all you said before you turned around and went back to your room, well your former room now. Pulling some bags out, you stuffed some clothes and important items into them. Once filled, you pulled on shoes and made sure you had what you needed until you could come get the rest of your stuff. Currently, you didnât know how to feel about any of this, but you did need to get away from her.
Synopsis: you get to meet Corpse's friends when he introduces you with a game of among us. He is there the whole time to calm your nerves and you calm his own by being there with him.
Warning: nothing
A/n: I don't know why but I thought this could be a really cute scenario. I'm still not used to writing short one shots instead of long fanfictions but I think I'm improving. I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!
His fans had known for awhile that Corpse had found someone in his life. Probably about a week before he had made it official, although he of course left out your identity.
Ever since his friends had been teasing him about it when he joined a game. He'd usually wave them off with a laugh as the game started, and usually they'd stop about it.
Until a couple of days ago when Sean joined the lobby.
"So when will we meet them?" Rae asked him as dramatic gasps could be heard from Sean's end of the call. It was his first time joining after the news came out, "so the rumours were true! You replaced Sykunno and me!"
Sykunno gasped as Corpse quickly answered, "I could never, you guys know that."
When he killed Sean later that game as imposter he received an earful at the end of it, "first you cheat on Sykunno and me, and then you murder us!" Sean dramatically exclaimed as the lobby erupted in laughter.
You had of course not been blind to the obvious requests. After Corpse had told the world about you, you had made a separate instagram account where you hilariously posted your own version of Corpse's pictures.
It started with a sandwich perfectly wrapped in tin foil as a taunt to his frustrations but it has spiralled out of control. Although it was all in good fun of course.
Now you sat on Corpse's lap as he had his arms wrapped around your waist. Your hands on the keyboard and Corpse explaining to you how everything worked. Not that you needed it because he would be here the whole time anyway, but you felt more comfortable knowing how everything worked.
No one knew you were joining the lobby today and Corpse started the stream off casually as he introduced you to his chat.
You were nervous of course, but Corpse's arms across your waist and his breath in your neck calmed you. Ironically Corpse himself was also very nervous despite knowing his friends were incredibly supportive of his relationship, and the two of you comforted each other.
Corpse was comforted by holding you against him on his lap, and you were comforted by his presence alone.
His hands typed away on the keyboard as he started among us and joined the lobby while simultaneously joining the call in discord.
"Corpse!" Sykunno piped up immediately when Corpse joined the lobby and greeted the people inside. He couldn't hide the smile in his voice as he spoke, "Hi sykunno, by the way I have to introduce a very special person."
He laughed as the lobby was filled with dramatic gasps. You couldn't stifle your laugh either and immediately the lobby quieted at your voice.
"Uhm hey!" You awkwardly greeted the others, you had spoken with Rae before over instagram so it was comforting to know you knew at least someone in the lobby already.
Corpse squeezed his arms around you in reassurance as the voices broke out in the call. Many asked you questions and after a couple of minutes Corpse came in between and the game started.
You played instead of corpse, who was explaining to you what to do and when to do things. The first meeting was called and you observed the chaotic energy that immediately overtook the lobby.
Toast and Rae were accusing each other, Sean and Sykunno were hard vouching for each other and it was a overall mess.
"Aha! But now my giga brain tactic has been triggered!" Toast suddenly exclaimed loudly as the others were both skeptical and curious.
"N/n where were you this round!"
"I was failing at card swipe." You were well known with the joke it was in the community, but it was the truth as well. You had been struggling to swipe it correctly for at least the past five minutes. Corpse had tried as well but gave up after five tries. He still swore he had become better at it in the meantime.
Sykunno interrupted, "N/n are you the imposter?" He asked and you turned to look at corpse who was just smiling to see if it was some joke.
"No I'm not?" You responded hesitantly and Sykunno immediately gave up other questions he had.
Eventually you managed to win the game by throwing out both Toast and Sykunno.
You had a lot of fun getting to know tasks and figuring out the map with occasional hints from corpse behind you. He was incredibly happy with how well you got along with his friends.
Eventually the red letters that spelled imposter were written over the screen. You had grown kind of tired from playing so you turned to look at corpse with puppy eyes if he wanted to play. You had heard how stressful being the imposter could be and frankly didn't really feel up for it.
Corpse killed the lights and vented to a different part of the map to make a swift kill only to vent back immediately after.
The body was reported quite fast, and Corpse signalled for you to talk when they asked where you had been. You understood what he hinted at and explained exactly what you had done without mentioning the kill.
"So it wasn't N/n." Rae concluded as Toast immediately started to question her if she could vouch for you.
"There's just no way a new player would be able to make a kill like that." She concluded and most in the lobby agreed with her.
The next round Toast followed you closely so Corpse couldn't make a kill, and you depended on Sean to make the kill for you.
At the next meeting Toast immediately vouched for you.
It continued like that until you eventually won the game. You pecked a quick kiss on Corpse's cheek as the lobby was stunned to see you had been an imposter all along.
You ended up quitting after that, saying goodbye to the people in the lobby as Corpse wrapped up the stream.
When it was all closed you leaned back in his chest as he chuckled. "You did really well for your first time." He complimented you while pressing a kiss on the back of your head.
You smiled and turned to wrap you arms around his neck.
"Wanna order take out and watch movies on the couch tonight?" You asked as you reached for your phone.
"Sounds like a plan." He said as the two of you moved to the living room. He unwrapped his arms from your waist as he moved to the kitchen, "you want anything?"
"Nah I'm good, what do you want to eat tonight?" You yelled back from your position of the couch, scrolling through your phone thinking about what to eat for dinner.
"What about f/f?" He proposed as he took a sip from his drink. You nodded as you opened the app to order your food, "on it"
You leant your head against his shoulder, automatically he wrapped his arms around your shoulder you cuddled into his warmth as he held you comfortably.
Usually he was anxious and stressed after streams but he found it was easier with you there. You always seemed to comfort him with your presence alone.
"Today was fun." You said as you looked up at him, seemingly reading his thoughts.
