❛ Love rules me. It determines what I ask. ❜ - for brun from des
Tebrun is familiar with burden and duty. Despite hat Nolan might say of him, despite what others may think, Tebrun was raised to speak. He was raised to speak of power in no uncertain terms. He was raised to trade hands with military leaders, with kings, with people who were beyond his own scope and social leaning. That’s how he was raised and there wasn’t a day that went by that it didn’t weigh on him.
Tebrun knows what it is like to be asked to do something painful. So, instead of Nolan’s reaction, he simply smiles.
“I demand fair trade, then.” He says, voice light despite the darkness there. “A heart for a heart, if you’ll have it be so. I see no other way around your proposition for this. We’ve had our time together, I understand this, and I am not foolish enough to ask for more. More this time, at least.”
He sets his shoulders back. “Love rules me. It determines what I ask. Us three shall takes wives soon and beget children from those marriages. But I ask for us to meet again. I ask that our families always be connected by a thread that runs through the three of us. That binds us all. So that we may see each other again. Love demand that I ask such a thing, my dear, and Nolan would have it be so as well.”
