DEFLECTION: Learned as a defense mechanism, Micah has been practicing deflection since he was a young child. Because of this, he is fairly good at it. He has the capability to deflect spells and supernatural powers that are used against him using an energy-based shield that he generates from his hand. However, it must be consciously activated in order for it to work, which makes the witch vulnerable when unaware of an impending attack. He uses this power frequently to keep himself safe on the island and keep himself out of slavery.
PATHOKINESIS*: Like his deflection, Micah’s pathokinesis was developed as a defense mechanism. The witch can sense and manipulate the emotions––including feelings, moods and their affects––of themselves, people, animals and other creatures, whether by increasing, decreasing, causing or otherwise channeling emotions, even manifesting the emotional energy to physical level. While Micah has some control over this power, he is still learning how to perfect it and control it better. If he is feeling an emotion too intensely it can consequently alter the mood of a room or an individual person. This also makes him prone to moodiness and makes him temperamental. To control this power he of often meditates and tries to keep a level head in social situations. Because he is honing in on this skill, he practices it rather frequently and experiments on people.
DIVINATION*: This power while his oldest, is not his best skill of the three. His divination, a method of reading the future, the present and the past, can be achieved by communicating with the supernatural and by reading certain patterns or omens in things like tea leaves and palms. These patterns and communications often don’t come to him when he wants them to and can come at inconvenient times even. While the power is still difficult for him to control, he has been successful discerning certain readings by using certain divination rituals. Having had this power abused by others in the past, he keeps this part of him a secret. He generally uses this power around people he trusts and when he's alone.
Micah has a history of being abused by others for his divinatory powers. As a result, he tries to keep them to himself unless he’s practicing or giving a reading to a friend.
This abuse is partially the reason he came to the island. Having a terrible mentor who would over cause him to nearly overdose, he finally got the courage to run away and try to start his life over.

A resident troublemaker, Micah has been hanging out around the island for about three years now. When he first arrived he tried to become a master but didn’t make the cut which he is slightly resentful for.
He can be rather indignant at times because of his status on the island and tends to poke fun at and mess with some of the slaves and masters. But it’s all in good fun and he doesn’t actually ever intend on getting on anyone’s bad side.
He’s an employee at Potions and Spells and is usually hanging out there when he’s not around causing trouble. He likes making potions and crafting spells for scrying.
To those he is close to he often does divinatory readings but tries to keep this power a secret whenever possible.
He likes to party and is fairly reckless with his encounters.
Because he’s still rather young for a witch and hasn’t developed his skills to the level he wants. Though his magical is powerful, it is really difficult for him to control. Because of this, he is often practicing on people and things around the island.
