❝at long last, soraya azad ascended into her glory, empress consort to constantine corrino, the one true padishah emperor, seated high upon the golden lion throne as the great salvation of house corrino.❞
My father, the Padishah Emperor, took me by the hand one day and I sensed in the ways my mother had taught me that he was disturbed.
He led my down the Hall of Portraits to the ego-likeness of the Duke Leto Atreides. I marked the strong resemblance between them - my father and this man in the portrait - both with thin, elegant faces and sharp features dominated by cold eyes.
"Princess-daughter," my father had said, I would that you'd been older when it came time for this man to choose a woman."
My father was 71 at the time and looking no older than the man in the portrait, and I was but 14, yet I remember deducing in that instant that my father secretly wished the Duke had been his son, and disliked the political necessities that made them enemies.

House Atreides - Lies of House Corrino (Princess Irulan mix).mp3 by H / Y / S Princess Irulan Corrino was one of the four daughters of the padishah-emperor Shaddam IV. As a representative of the House Corrino and a pupil of Bene Gesserit, she participated in numerous intrigues and conspiracies inside the imperial court on both sides, for which she almost once was poisoned by her own father. After the overthrow of Shaddam IV, Paul Atreides in order to legitimize his rights to the imperial throne, enters into a political marriage with the House Corrino and marries princess Irulan. The status of an official wife causes hatred towards her on the part of Chani, the beloved Paul Muad’Dib, and a latent rivalry is established between them for influence over him. At the instigation of Bene Gesserit, Irulan tried to prevent the birth of children from Chani and Paul, secretly mixing food for the first contraceptive. However, the children still appeared and the machinations of Irulan were soon discovered, and only the protection of Paul prevented the death of the princess at the hands of the vengeful Chani. Since the marriage was nominal, and Paul did not feel feelings for her (and even more so did not plan to have children from her), Irulan did not hesitate to take part in various conspiracies against the Atreides, which failed one by one. But after Paul went into the wilderness according to the fremen custom, Irulan experiences grief and confesses to his sister Alia that she loved him. After that, she breaks her ties with Bene Gesserit and vows to take on the upbringing of his children, who, with the departure of Paul, are left completely alone (their mother Chani died after childbirth). With the escape of Leto II into the desert, Irulan is beside his sister Ghanima and takes part in a conspiracy against Alia Atreides on the side of Lady Jessica, for which she was captured by supporters of the priestess-regent and sentenced to death. Returning Leto II and the death of Alia as a result of suicide saved the life of Irulan. Princess Irulan Corrino was known for her love of literature - she was also the personal biographer of Paul Muad’Dib and author of many books about him and his sayings.
