Pumpkin

Often considered the 'brains' of the Crystal Gem B team, her origins within the dynamic are very humble. Pumpkin was one of the many gems who fell victim to corruption at the end of the war, a jasper that got lost in the commotion from her squad. While she was serving the diamond authority at the time, she was somewhat sympathetic to the Crystal Gems during her short span of life prior to corruption.

Her existence was almost completely lonesome till she one day relaxed in a certain pumpkin field. She was discovered by Sapphire and Nephrite, who promptly began trying to poof her for crushing many of the pumpkins in her wake that Steven was cultivating. Upon hearing the commotion, while at first joining in on the assault, Steven quickly encourages a different method. Instead of attacking the invading gem, Steven attempts to placate it, surprisingly working. Now in a minature and much more agreeable form, Steven encourages Sapphire and Nephrite to take on the task of caring for her, naming her Pumpkin after her likeness with them. From here, Pumpkin becomes a constant presence amongst the two, who both grow to care for her greatly. Nephrite was the one to encourage Steven to attempt convincing Yellow Diamond to help the corrupted gems due to this fact. Pumpkin was one of the first gems to be uncorrupted, and retaining fuzzied memories of Sapphire and Nephrite is extatic to be united with them properly for the first time.

With so much of her existence spent corrupted, it took a while for Pumpkin to fully discover the type of person she was. She never had to look far for support however, as Sapphire and Nephrite always lent a helping hand. It took her longer to be trusting of any other member of the gems, including Steven, however by the time Future takes place she is completely stable in her identity and around others. While generally optimistic and cheerful, it would be a wrong assesment to see Pumpkin as ditzy. The truth is completely the opposite, as she has quite the strong head on her shoulders. Incredibly organised, she plans out a lot of what goes on in Little Homeschool and could be described as the vice-principal of the entire settlement. She designed much of the structures with the help of Bismuth and helped with the outline of the things taught there. You can find her always in the thick of it, helping out teachers she passes by and fixing whatever problems crop up on the daily. When things don't go to plan, Pumpkin is quick to anxiety, in dire cases even finding herself having an intense panic attack.

Once a velveteen seductress of Homeworld, Dry Bone Ore came to Earth on an entertainment assignment to lift the spirits of a certain Pink Diamond. The corruption blast came before she even got word Pink was gone. She has the shards of a former lover she kept with her attached to her “strippers pole”.
