so i just found out that the smithsonian has a 1602 copy of ulisse aldrovandi’s ‘de animalibus insectis’ with a cover thats painted with arsenic, meaning its a big old book full of woodcut illustrations of insects that is poisonous to touch and im losing my mind over it
