I’m still on my Daisuke x Monty shit. Monty and Comfrey fought over the Wind Rider’s Society because he knew Comfrey’s plan to sort of close those walls around Pappy and turn him into an “indoor dog” (DEVASTATING Zac line, truly) and Monty wasn’t here for it. Going back and forth with her, like Monty saying that she knows Daisuke needs that adventure, he can’t just sit inside, that he still needs that movement. That Daisuke won’t sit and watch her devolve into madness and obsession.
And that’s when Comfrey calls it. Monty doesn’t want there to be a Wind Rider’s Society because he was never a true adventurer and he was only here for his books and only stayed for his books.
