bug ambassador!!
Yes! It was so good!!
We had out blue death-feigning beetles and Madagascar hissing cockroaches (Both of which, stubbornly, refused to feign dead and hiss respectively, but I can’t blame them. Having something like that in your name is a lot of expectation) and I got to not only handle both, but also teach people about how they were actually harmless and very interesting.
Watching people pose for photos with the bugs, and kids excitedly drag over their parents to check out the displays was really heartwarming. I loved hearing when people called one of the bugs “pretty” or “cute” -- and when someone more hesitant to handle them decided to give it a go and pet one.
@ Laura and Kaden y'all are champs, I don’t think anyone’s ever replied to a post of mine that fast. thank you thank you thank you.

I’m really curious now what’s this podcast about?
ars paradoxica is a time-travel drama podcast, about a scientist (sally grissom) who gets sent back in time to the 1940s in an accident with a time machine and all the complications and conundrums that result from it.
i really adore the description on their website though, which says:
“ars PARADOXICA is a story about people searching for meaning in a universe that aggressively lacks one, and who occasionally find the next best thing in those around them.
It's also about the way power corrupts. When you've got a time machine and the backing of the most powerful nation on Earth, you start to get the idea that you can always tilt the scales in your favor, but there is cost and consequence for every action.
But above all, it's about science, the deeply human desire to fix our mistakes, and America.”
it has ciphers connected every episode, which i’m sure will appeal to some of the people who follow me, and as of late has had some incredible representation! it also has important scientist friendships and some really insightful dialogue and back to the future references and i love it dearly!
