okay besties hot take: i see people saying that tony is the mind of the avengers and steve is the heart, but no, no no. steve's the mind and tony's the heart.

steve is all rationality and careful calculations. he's never impulsive, and isn't one of the characteristics of the heart impulsivity? he might not be the smartest of the avengers, but he's still incredibly intelligent. he is the mind.

tony is impulsive - he does things because he feels like it. he is hurt deeply by betrayal, he follows his what his heart wants to do, not necessarily what the best course of action is. he is motivated primarily by his own guilt, not his logic. tony is the heart.

because i'm going, everyone else's body parts: (and i'm looking at TA and AoU to decide this because their characterizations are the most consistant between these two movies.)

thor is the soul. He's energetic, full of life, and just all around the soul.

bruce is the body. I view him as the most solid of the avengers - they all have major mental health conditions, but by TA and until the end of AoU he seems to have made peace with most of it, unlike the others.

clint and natasha are the hands. they're the doers of the team - they get shit done, and are good at it.
