Maybe spirits feel love more when they’ve abandoned their bodies

And there’s nothing physical to distract them like sex and Hallmark cards

When it has to go past embracing and touching each others lips

When they can’t get a text message or a Facebook post because they can’t get to a phone or type on the keyboard

Maybe they just linger somehow and maybe they can be in more places than one

And they see grief and they feel it somehow but not in a hug or a bouquet of flowers

They feel the love behind the pain and know it is a pure love because it isn’t disguised with material or glitter

It’s just raw and I think it helps the spiritual aspect of what once was a person find closure

And it’s easy because they don’t know the pain of losing sleep and not being able to eat because that doesn’t matter when you have no body to nourish

And their eyes don’t burn from crying and they’re chests don’t ache with emptiness because they can’t feel pain
