Madogism
A school of thought expanding on cosmic nihilism that observes the following to be true:
All life as far as we know share the same genetic ancestors and have developed over time with their surroundings.
All lifeforms have an opinion on something. This makes them an independent viewpoint and all opinions that they have are based on three things: The biology of the lifeform and the space and time the life form has existed in. life is limited by what information each lifeform can seance and how they process that information. Most life forms are only interested in continuing life, be that its own or its species; usually both.
A natural conclusion to the meaning of life is to continue it. However a ‘Madogist’ would argue that because humans can disagree with this biological urge to stay alive and continue the life of its species, this can not be the case.
All meaning (what each liform thinks of as fact) is subjective and involves the projection of the individual on to each thing. This can be observed with tools. Objects that the user projects there meaning on to as a means to an end.
Because of the sharing of information the same opinions can be held by many individuals. These individuals could then view this widely held belief as fact. However a ‘Madogist’ knows that there is no true fact as all information and the processing of that information is limited by the individuals biology/time/space.
Art has no meaning other than itself. It is subjective and any thought or feeling could be invoked by it (given the right circumstances(the individuals biology/time/space)) without knowing the intention of the artist.
All things that are a direct result of the big bang have no meaning other than themselves. This means that all stars and planets and pretty much everything is art. This includes lifeforms.
Life has no meaning other than itself and so a ‘Madogist’ perceives itself as art.
All things to a ‘Madogist’ can be put into three categories.
Natural art: All things as a direct occurrence of the big bang including life.
Tools: Anything that has meaning other than itself as a means to an end.
Artificial art: Anything that a lifeform has made that has no meaning other than itself.
An important distinction to acknowledge is that while art can evoke thoughts and feelings, that is not its reason to be. This is simply a byproduct of observing its existence.
A second important distinction to acknowledge is that design can invoke any thought or feeling given the right circumstances just as art can. However design has a means to an end in mind while art doesn't.
Keeping all that in mind an interesting conclusion can be made. Either the big bang was intentional or not. Also we are either in a simulation or not. Because there is no information to gather a conclusion on these questions a ‘Madogist’ knows that it is all subjective. By viewing life as art either there was an artist or there wasn't. But any thought or feeling could be invoked by any art without knowing the artists intent. So if either answer is correct everything remains the same and every life form is free to draw its own conclusions on everything.
This is the real beauty of art.
No Where Else To Go.
Bad Trip.
