HI HAVE HALFA MIKEY (tmnt12) !!!!

Mikey's sound core looks like a dimension x tree crystal btw and is surrounded by soundwaves. The ecto from dp is basically already tmnt's mutagen, so for the au I'm calling it ecto-mutagen and it's a third separate thing from regular and retromutagen.

Mikey died within the first month of being in Dimension X (the first time), but in this au rather than being there a few months, he's been there around five years. And roughly two years in the Ghost Zone / Infinite Realms, being taught by FrostBite and ClockWork and befriending Dani Phantom. I'm thinking he died by being buried alive underneath something that fell.

(this means eldest brother Mikey btw 👀)

Now, in my lore, a ghost's Obsession and Core is decided by how they die; Obsession is the last thought and main thing of your personality, Core is how you die. I've given Mikey here a protection Obsession (specifically those he sees as family) and a sound core. Because sound as a power seems very fitting to Mikey and to have happened in Dimension X. For the sound power, I'm taking a lot of inspiration from Lego Ninjago's Elemental Power of Sound, so things like sonic booms/blasts and Infrasound 'vision' etc, but he can also see soundwaves and learn about its frequencies.

Either way, once Mikey gets dropped back into Dimension X after having been taught all necessary for a halfa, Mikey immediately goes back to trying to save Leatherhead. This time, he does so alone, and Leatherhead gets out. But they can't return home yet, they still have to do all they can to push up the invasion (even if on Earth it's only by a few seconds. If they do it on a big enough scale, maybe it can at least be lessened?). So that's what Mikey and Leatherhead does; destroying and sabotaging every single kraang base they can find.

(also qpr Leatherhead x Mikey; once they realised they're both kinda messed up they decided it's better to do something than yearn in secret. I don't know their shipname tho and have never even written Leatherhead before but fushdu)

A few years later, Leo and Raph gets there, just a few months before Donnie does. Leo and Raph gets caught up to everything (almost, Mikey says nothing about dying, about being a halfa now too), and so does Donnie when he arrives. Which means we've caught up to canon. They have their fight in the big kraang base, fight the kraangdroids (im gonna call those skins that now <3) and opens up the portal back home. But here, Mikey and Leatherhead have also targeted the place where the kraangdroids are manufactured, so it's not fully limitless (just mostly).

Back home, the invasion happens pretty much the same. Mikey's uncertain he can do any of the halfa-related stuff back on Earth as he could in DimX, and it's takes time for him to adjust back to how Earth works, even if it's still fast and easier for him to switch back.

(hi update from a few hours later: I'll probably add in Dani and make Mikey Summon her to help fight the invasion. At some point I'll hopefully have a more decided timeline for all of this and what role Dani plays here.)

But some things I'm changing, namely Mikey does still have his ghost form and his Ghost Obsession. He goes after Leo as soon as they (he, April, Donnie) get to April's apartment (not sure when he gets to Leo, possibly at the end of Leo vs Shredder fight? when the arrows, maybe). The end of the Shredder and Splinter fight when they're stuck watching? Yeah that triggers Obsession Mode (or as the others will call it, Crazy Violent Mode), and Mikey's only thought is PROTECT SENSEI-DAD. So Mikey does, invisible in Ghost Form as he absolutely beats Shredder up to hell and back (which hi did you know a lot of the mutant and halfa physiology is the same? Mikey got it doubled now). Oh and also, Mikey's not in control of Obsession Mode, literally all his mind is hyperfocused on is PROTECT FAMILY. So they get Splinter out, and sees a whole new side of Mikey. (i WILL find a way to keep the Mikey and Raph hug oughhh that scene was so aaaa <333)

I'm undecided if the Kraang Prime vs TurtleMech will be the same too or not, but I do think one of the others would tell Mikey "now would be a really good time to go crazy violent mode, Mikey!". And I want them to get Leatherhead somehow when they leave.

Then, during the s2-s3 timeskip, I'm thinking Mikey will finally get to have a funeral. Leatherhead will be there, and I think I want Dani to be there too (how? the same Summon as Mikey used during the invasion). Leaning towards Teng Shen, ClockWork and FrostBite being there too? maybe? and to the ones at the Farmhouse all Mikey says is that he and Leatherhead gonna do ✨coupley things✨.

And I have a thought that Splinter and April will be the first to learn that DimX didn't just change Mikey, it killed him too. I'm thinking Splinter will also tell Mikey as the now oldest brother, it's Mikey's duty/job to be the one his brothers can look up to for hope, that Mikey will be that beacon of light and hope in their lives, and to keep his brothers safe. Mikey takes this very seriously actually (and being eldest bro in general. anything to not think about how he died the youngest and has been the same age for a few years now) (eheheh yep that's right im also making this eternally young / extremely slowly aging Mikey <3 i think it's a fun concept to play around with)

oh a halfa also has three forms; alive, inverted and True Ghost. TG is more of an eldritch form! and if an Obsession is threatened, it gives all ghosts+halfas a boost they don't get otherwise :)

and that's all I've decided for this AU so far!!
