6. Can other people tell your character isn't cishet, whether your character has come out to them or not?
He passes pretty well, but his height is kind of a giveaway that he's trans, though some people probably just assume he was born premature or something. He doesn't really act "gay" so it's a bit harder for people to clock that he's bisexual, but he doesn't put in any effort to hide it. The cherry-red hair makes it a little easier to guess that he's some flavor of queer, too.
12. Are the people in your character's life accepting of them? Now? In the past? The future?
Hahahahaaha. His parents and brothers? Absolutely the fuck not. They're more bothered by the trans thing than the fact that he likes girls (to them, that is gay since he is a "girl"), and they are extremely terrible about it! He moved out right when he turned 18 at the start of college and he never talks to any of them anymore.
Before he was captured, he lived with his sister, Mira, and she's also trans and a lesbian so uh yeah she is very accepting. So are all of his friends, including his bestie the cishet dudebro who is a huge ally!
His captor, Makena, is accepting because while she hates his guts she's not a bigot, and he's grateful for that. During the rest of his captivity and after it, he won't really encounter anyone significant that's not accepting, so he's got that going for him.
