Pastel Trash Panda Wooden Pins by cosmicloak
King of Cups. Art by Cosmicloak, from Loaf Tarot.
King of Cups is the card of matured balance between head and heart- to be generous and wise when handling physical and emotional wealth. When reversed it means repression, manipulation, or being overwhelmed physically and emotionally.
Raccoons are seen as “greedy” creatures since they scavenge from garbage. I illustrated the raccoon as a generous little king instead! I wanted to play with the negative connotation of raccoons and spin it around.
The fish on the card represent the Cup’s association with water. It could be read as the raccoon offering or withholding riches (the fish) dependent on if the card is drawn right side up or down.
