He smirked dramatically, sliding a finger along the curve of his chin.

"Of course you can't tell me I'm wrong. When have I ever been as far as you know?" The expression dropped into something a little more sardonic and the pointedly jabbed a forefinger in Silver's direction.

"Besides then, of course. We don't count that." When exactly he meant wasn't entirely clear and it became apparent he had no intention of elaborating. Something flashed behind those baby blues and it wasn't clear if the slightest twitch at the corner of his mouth was a stifled grin or grimace.

"Colress. I'm... familiar with the name. He's rather well-respected in the field now, if memory serves. His contributions to scientific advancement and evolutionary study are highly regarded nowadays. Perhaps, if all things go right, you'll hear my name alongside his."

He shrugged loftily following this statement, though, and waved his hand. "Not that I crave the recognition. After barely managing to scrape my name from the bottom of the barrel following the Kanto incident and the fallout from the Radio Tower besides, I'm quite happy to remain anonymous. It's... easier that way."

"So what's this about Dynamax energy running amok? I'm not sure I remember clearly what happened there with 'those two idiot brothers' and I don't recall anyone mentioning it during my travels there."

AZ, sitting under a tree, had just been falling asleep when he heard someone talk. Lazily, he cracks open an eye and saw a figure gazing at the statues. Figuring they weren’t speaking at him, AZ closed his eyes again. This didn’t concern him.

“Ech,” Floette muttered, sitting on top of AZ’s head. “Poor guy looks like a Harmonia.”

Not much time had passed since the showdown between N, Ghetsis, and Hilda. With Cheren’s help, Alder had attempted to apprehend the monstrous true leader of Team Plasma, but the Shadow Triad had helped him to escape. Since then, nobody had known where he was.

As well as being bothered by that, there were other things on the former champion’s mind, as well. The whole fiasco of Team Plasma had seemed so out of character for the Ghetsis he thought he knew, but that was so long ago. Clearly, a lot had changed over the years.

And with overhearing threats of “elimination”, “ruling the world”, as well as the appalling things Ghetsis had said to his own son, more things had changed than Alder could have ever imagined.

His entire view of N had changed in that one moment. Before, he had written N off as an admittedly idealistic albeit naive young man, but still a brat. A jumped up little shit who strongarmed his way into the champion position with Reshiram to enforce a world that nobody other than Team Plasma wanted. He had to admit that the speeches he had heard about Pokemon liberation had given him cause to rethink his own relationship with Pokemon, but to give them up entirely had been a step too far.

Yet, the moment he had set foot into that room, and seen a thunderous Ghetsis, a livid Hilda and a frightened and upset N, he started to imagine just what N had experienced. N’s sincerity in his intentions had always been obvious, but Alder also had to wonder if Team Plasma’s king had gone along with it in the hopes of obtaining a scrap of paternal affection. The idea made Alder’s heart heavy.

And so, he continued wandering. Not aimlessly, not to try and escape distress, but to seek N out. When Alder finally found him, he approached with caution.

‘N?’ he called, maintaining a distance. What the hell was the boy’s actual name, anyway? He felt a bit ridiculous, calling him “N” all the time. Surely he had a proper name.

[ Normally in the summer months, there would a heat haze encompassing that would cause people to have their box fans in their windows and a popsicle in their mouths but it was different in Galar. Not as cold as Sinnoh, but it wouldn’t get too hot like Alola, it was more of an...adequate heat. It was usually jacket weather in the hotter months, but today was different, strangely. Enough heat to make your clothes stick onto you if you stayed too long out from your air-conditioned oasis. However, Leon never learned. ]

[ As he pulled his shirt from his collar, he took a quick breather on the bench. He would’ve been swarmed with crowds by now in Wyndon, but he wasn’t followed by his usual crowd today - although being in a secluded area helped. His iconic, lovable smile didn’t accompany his face today since he’s been met with odd occurrences throughout the day. Giving long thought on what could be up, his concerns grew even more when someone came over to him and said something...weird. ]

“Oh, Champion Leon! I’m so glad to have found you again. I know I already did this, but I wanted to thank you again so much for what you did for me today!”

[ Their smile was so genuine, how could he ruin it by showing any resistance? ] “Eh? Is that so?” [ Yet again he went along with whatever the fans have said, unbeknownst to him that this issue was...not of this universe. With a feign smile, he mustered up a chuckle and waved. ] “Love helping whenever I can!” [ And with that, they went to the rest of their afternoon. And with that, he leaned back and sighed out of frustration and confusion. All day today, he’s been getting these messages, thank you cards, and whatnot for helping out with various of things - this isn’t abnormal as he loves helping however he can, but the only issue is that he just woke up. He overslept on one of his few days off, and yet people claim he’s been a saint all day. What was this chaos? Was he doing superhero work in his sleep? He couldn’t explain it, but he had to get to the bottom of this before it grew into something worse… ]

Alex has followed Rose into Sinnoh this time, on one of his visits to Cyrus, and, at Hop's request, has dropped by the Sandgem Lab, wondering why Hop had wanted her here at all. River at her side, the champion carefully walked inside- "Hello?" 

“Connections between the ruins at Solaceon and the Ruins of Alph, including multiple different former settlements with similar alphabets...” Lucas is alone in the lab today, talking his way through some loose ends. “Considering how in-land some of these are, there had to have been some kind of immigration, or... a kind of communication. If they spoke similar languages, then that’d make sense...”

He’s too caught up in his own world to notice the door opening. “If they adopted the alphabet since it would be easier to communicate through it, that’d make better sense than them all speaking similarly, though then again... Sinnohan and Johtohan aren’t too dissimilar...”

The sound of a voice snaps him out of it, however, and Lucas glances towards the door. Does he recognise them? Nothing about them seems familiar, and yet...?

“Welcome to Sandgem Laboratory. How can I help...?”

[ Alex - CosmiicMulti ]: Kabu may think he’s on his own out here in the Wild Area, in the early hours of the morning, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, when a big BOOM comes from one of the max dens. It’s the champion, having just gotten blown out by a Gmax Hatterene. Coming to her senses, she waved to the gym leader, “Hey Kabu!! Howya?”

Kabu had been doing his cooldown stretches when the explosion shook the ground. He shared a look with Omukade, his centiskorch before he jogged over to see what happened - and if there were any injured people who needed help.

And wouldn’t you know it, the champion herself was lying on the ground, still slightly dusty. “I’m fine,” he replied. “What about you? You look like you took a rough fall.”

Leon has actually managed to dress normally today, so he doesn't exactly stick out in the crowds of Circhester, but he does manage to find Gordie, "Gordie-! Hey-! I've got something for you! I think you're really gonna like it!" Leon smiled, "It's all the way from Sinnoh, so you better like it." The champion held out a Poke ball to Gordie. Inside? A baby Cranidos!

Ah, shit, and here he was thinking that he was perfectly hidden undercover in the crowds-- one voice recognises him, and surely a hundred more will follow it. Gordie resigns himself to his fate, stopping in the crowd and waiting for whoever it is to catch up to him-- hopefully it'll pass quickly, so he can just get back to what he's up to.

But, when it's Leon's face coming out of the crowd, Gordie's at least pleasantly surprised. "Oh-- Leon, you had me right fuckin' worried you were a fan. Was afraid I'd need to change up my looks again."

He leads Leon away from the middle of the crowd, hand placed on his shoulder with a small smile on his lips. A gift from Sinnoh, huh? There's a lot of cool things in Sinnoh he's interested in-- rocks especially. The whole ability to go into fully formed mines underground, and getting to keep what you mine? Amazing, flawless, he needs to get some gems from down there.

But, when a Pokeball is held out, he knows it's something different. A Sinnohan Rock-type Pokemon? There's Bastiodon, of course-- fun, sturdy, even if a little funny looking, thanks to its shield-- and Rampardos, which he's sure would get along stellar with his Tyrantrum, which also isn't allowed out yet. Maybe it's a Probopass, though? That was first discovered in Sinnoh--

"You're far too kind to me, mate. I can't use 'em in battle--" whatever they are, that is-- he hasn't opened the Pokeball yet. "But I really appreciate it. I love gettin' to train new Rock-type Pokemon."

When he opens the Pokeball, he gasps in delight. A Cranidos! A little baby Cranidos, with his head still not fully hardened, and his little arms, and-- "Mate!" Gordie's voice is higher than he anticipates, but he doesn't care. "Look at them! They're so small! Aren't you just a baby!"

Nanu looked at her. Hair on a ponytail, hands clutching her backpack’s straps, legs barely strong enough to keep her upright. As if determination alone was all that she needed.

But what did Nanu know? Maybe it was.

“Good for you,” Nanu said. “Let me know how that goes.”
